I don't know if there is a plan for any of this in the full release but I love side quests in games as it feels more immersive, lets you settle into a character and of course build XP/gold/story etc.
So as a side quest lover I thought I'd make a post on things I think would be cool to see/do/experience in Baldur's Gate 3 from what I've experienced so far in BG3.
BEACH
You can find letters, items telling stories etc on the dead on the beach, could we ever find the families and tell them of their fates?
Intimidate the stranded fishermen and fisherwoman to give over their valuables without a fight
recruit the boar to druid grove (only available after speaking to the pig in druids grove)
Make allies of the bandits in the runes/deceive them into passiveness
DRUIDS GROVE
Help the bear communicate with Volo (either as a translator or give Volo potion of animal speaking)
Help old woman cooking get ingredients for a better stew/help provide provisions for Tieflings
Help the blacksmith improve the forge/get better equipment (maybe by the random hammers, tongs etc you find)
Talk Arkka out of going out after the goblins/convince her to come with you and become a temporary companion for her revenge
Help find out what happened to Donni's dad/find Donni's dad (after finding bottle in the underdark)
Join the shadow druids
Find the boar a mate/friend
Help study the dead drow
Influence bards song to be better/worse/trash it altogether
Find out why that one Tiefling guard is in such a bad mood
BLIGHTED VILLAGE
recreate experiment in the lab on restoring the dead/raising the dead (can give the true resurrection ability or necromancy ability)
Find out the matriarch spider was an elf and communicate with it to prevent a fight/ possibly get robes as a gift for letting them live
Find shar stronghold near the village/ find out what happened to the village
SWAMP
Save the brothers/convince them to let us go after the hag
free the frog
Be able to pickpocket the masks off of the masked thralls to free them/knock them out successfully
Free the man in the mirror
successfully true resurrect Conner for Mayrina/Raise undead Conner for your party
Find out more about the hunter's contract/better dialogue if you killed the hunter
Pick up the trail to other hags via letters at the teahouse and hags lair
RISEN ROAD/HIDEOUT
Free the Tyr followers from their soul contract/better find out who is lying
Trail back to wizard from the chest
Resurrect or save the wife/put out the fires
Help put to rest the dead Flaming Fists
Help the cow find a new home/move to camp or druids grove/give to Tieflings
Get access to the elevator if allied to the Zhenthariums
Get your or your companions portrait painted
If enslaving the painter and not freeing he goes to your camp
Be able to help torture Rugan
Find out what really happened at the tollhouse/blocked road
MOUNTAIN PASS
Save the guards/get creche location given by Gith leader if successfully avoided a fight with Gith/deception successful
UNDERDARK
Help Omellum with his research/ offer to collect brains from the dead for him
Find out what happened to Lenore
persuade the drow at the sussar bark tree to avoid a fight
convince glut against revenge
learn the spore magic
invest in the dwarves shop in baldur's gate
keep the gnome slaves
find out what happened at the temple
Find out what happened to the gnome who left bloodied footprints
free the Rothe cattle
More benefits from the Kuo toa worshipping you (maybe help in battle near water or help at moonrise towers)
Take over Zhentharium storage (as a camp location?)
Choose to give forge location to gnomes, Duergar or drow
give deed found in Duergar chest back to gnomes
Find more items for Dwarf traders
Give Omellum items from Nutilliod for more dialogue/knowledge for Omellum (such as illithid record/brains in jars etc)
Recruit Bernerd & machines in arcane tower
Bring Donni's letter in a bottle back to Zevlor/Wyll for more information
Be able to recruit the spiders to your camp (only if you are a follower of Loth)
GOBLIN CAMP
Win chicken chasing for Owlbear ownership
Perform with Volo for goblin approval
Free an additional trader from goblin capture to replace trader if you kill all the goblins
Recruit pain priest to camp or as ally for later in game
See through the scrying eye with successful checks to get an insight on moonrise towers
Talk your way into the spider cage to be able to recruit the spiders
Be able to persuade/intimidate/illithid influence goblins to give Smythyn to you as a prisoner to enslave or free
Via speak with animals/druid be able to befriend goblin beast pets / convince to turn on goblins
Recruit goblin in cage to camp
talk your way past Polma
Tell Halsin about grove/findings
CAMP/PARTY
Upgrade camp/move to building (if taken over for example bandit ruins)
Options to feed Scratch & owlbear
Cutscenes available at all camps not just forest camp
Able to recruit trader to camp

More alive/random survivors that can give more insight, It's just a lot of dead people and ruined villages
