The Bearheart barbarian has a unique quirk that makes the end of combat more frantic than it needs to be.

That subclass has a healing ability called Unrelenting Ferocity. It costs a full action and is only available while raging. Notably, a barb's rage ends if they neither attack nor take damage for a round. This means using Unrelenting Ferocity usually results in ending rage.

There is one window where the Bearheart barb can heal without wasting a rage charge: after a combat ends, the barb will keep raging for a few seconds. If they're ready for it, a player can immediately select their barb, quickly select the heal ability and click anywhere on the screen to activate it before rage ends. It's doable but not easy, especially if the player is caught off guard by the end of combat.

It's been mentioned elsewhere several times that the game should afford a grace period immediately after combat to handle emergencies like downed companions, dangerous surfaces etc... The race to heal the Bearheart barb is another reason why the end of combat could be handled more gracefully.

I allways though that this "ability" was added to even futher incerase Barbarian survivality during the combat ...
I mean if you heal yourself, and then you are attacked ... rage should continue, no? O_o

If they implemented Rage properly, this would not be a problem. Sadly, they have not done so.

If Rage was done correctly, it would not end until the start of your NEXT turn, if you didn't attack and were not damaged at all during the *entire* next round.

However, as Larian have implemented it your rage ends immediately when you end your turn, if you don't attack - massively limiting what you can practically do while raging.

Thanks for that information. I wasn't sure if I misunderstood how rage worked or if the tooltip was wrong : "Rage ends early if you haven't attacked a creature or taken damage since your last turn." Fixing how rage ends would make Unrelenting Ferocity actually useful during combat, which mostly solves my problem.

That "end of combat window" still exists, though. Aside from the Bearheart barb example, where exploiting that window is the only way to use Unrelenting Ferocity, I'm sure there are plenty of interesting ways to use it. Maybe it's the last few turns of Featherfall and the party needs to jump to a lower level before it runs out. Maybe you want to try a skill check with a Blessed PC before the buff is gone.

I've tried going into turn-based mode immediately after combat, but that doesn't work at all. The game waits for 10-15 seconds before pausing the world, by which time it's too late for shenanigans. Maybe things run more smoothly with a better computer (the wonderful folks in this forum can enlighten me on that score). Still, I wish the game acknowledged that the tactics don't end with your last foe's last breath.
