I really enjoy the game so far, but I've noticed a few things in my playthrough that may need attention:

If you kick the squirrel in the grove after it bites you, Astarion mentions ruining a good snack before my character found out he was a vampire.

When talking to the Monster hunter, saying Astarion's name in the first choice doesn't alarm the Gur that his target is standing in front of him. At this point, I didn't even know he was a vampire in this play, so it would have outed him for both of us. I feel like there's potential there.

Some suggestions I'd like to see implemented:

I would love a way to change character appearance after initial creation.

It would be nice to have more dialogue options when speaking to Lae'zel (sp?). She's very aggressive towards the player at first, and while it is her personality, I found myself wishing my character could give her a taste of her own attitude even at the possible cost of disapproval, though it seems like she respects anytime you stand your ground with her.

More flirty options with all the companions prior to the party would be great, in addition to some playful banter after. It was a little odd that after spending the night with Astarion, who had very high approval, told Shadowheart he had no one special. It was also a little weird that she asked since she does comment on it at the party. Unless the game is operating like the party was a one night stand, but then his greetings after towards the player don't support that with "Hello lover." and "Did you miss me?"

It's mostly minor things, but they are immersion disrupting, and since this is a forum for feedback, I figured it couldn't hurt to suggest it.

Thanks!

I thought that was Larian’s kind of foreshadowing, like the exanguinated boar the game places across your path.

That same scene happens elsewhere
(with Wyll in the goblin camp).
Larian must really like that trope.

I agree that the game gives off one night stand vibes for all of the change in character dynamics after the party.

Now that I'm thinking about it, they are on the road and could easily eat a squirrel if they had to, so it isn't super out of place. It would feel less so if we randomly found squirrel meat from shops and searching. Maybe it was intended to be more funny that Astarion says it. You may have a point there about the foreshadowing.

I never got that with Wyll, but admittedly I'm only a few plays in.

I'm glad it's not just me.

Eating squirrels is just cruel.

Alt+ left click in the inventory on an item while the camp stash is opened transfers the item there. Make it a reality.

Thats not just Lae'zel ...
Our characters are horribly limited if they want to be cruel, aggresive, harsh or sarcastic on our companions ...

I mean Astarion is threatening our very life!
And we are FORCED to accept his theatrical apology in wich he is clearly mocking us. -_-

I still dont understand why cant we change Race for our hirelings. frown
Lets us play Githyanki as racist as they trully are! frown

Another solid point. As I'm pretty partial to Astarion, so I may have overlooked most of that. But he has said some really crappy things in hindsight that I'd like to be able to tell him (and others) the what for over.

I don't think "foreshadowing" is relevant with Astarion after seeing bloody fangs in loadscreen art or reading "centuries old vampire" in his origin character description.

Even from an entirely in-character perspective his "reveal" scene is really superfluous and lacks any impact or surprise. If properly done, it would be a shocking and memorable scene whenever and wherever you find out.

If only the writers cared more about crafting a proper vampire story with mystery and horror, rather than bluntly including a twilight-esque vampire companion in the cast from day one just because someone somewhere likes vampires. It's a huge missed opportunity.

Same goes with Wyll being coy about having a patron or (according to some) Shadowheart acting like her armor isn’t a dead giveaway.

There are plenty of secrets to be missed in BG3, but the companion’s secrets are simply their backstory. It’s necessary for the player to know these things for the narrative to make sense. I think that’s why Larian are using the blunt end of the foreshadowing stick.
