So I saw that Larian posted a job ad looking for a Producer to help out their writers organize the last stage of BG3, and that got me thinking... what tools do you think Larian uses to write the story, dialogues, scenes, etc.?

Swen mentioned in this talk that for DOS II it was a collaborative Google Sheet, but I was wondering if they have access to more powerful/sophisticated programs (off the top of my mind, Twine, or Ink, or something like that) that keep track of tags, variable, dialogue options, spells like Charm or "Disguise", past choices, people you might have accidentally killed, number of eyes found in the wilderness...

Also, given the number of variables, the branching must be insane to keep track of (see, the Box Problem). The writing team must be living in a whole different level of creative SCRUM; I'd love to know what they are using and how they are coping and how to learn that forbidden knowledge.

I too would be curious. Many of classic, groundbreaking RPGs were written on Excel Sheet but it’s an inefficient method. Interestingly, Obsidian is so far ahead of competition In building dialogue trees partially cause they invested in specialised in house tools:

An insanely cumbersome excel sheet was exactly what I was thinking too.
