I have reported this crash every time it happened, after trying the different solutions proposed but Larian, but basically the game crashes and closes right after the opening cinematic, while the character creation screen is loading. So far, I have:
1) Uninstalled and reinstalled the entire game 2) Downloaded new Nvidia Drivers, recommended before the first launch 3) Uninstalled all mods and mod remnants 4) Restarted my computer 5) Verified that the firewall is not blocking BG3 (it wasn't) 6) Started the game from the steampps bin as an Administrator (both the bg3 and the bg3dx11 launchers) 7) Deleted all previous profiles and created a brand new profile free of saves for Patch 8
The result is the same every time, perfect start cinematic then game goes down during the loading screen for character creation.
Have any of you experienced this? If so, do you have any idea of how to solve it? So far, this is the first time that BG3 is saying "nope", and I'm out of ideas.
Unfortunately not. I'm also having crashes during character creation, but only after a while. But that was also the case for me in the previous patch. The longer I'm in character creation, the more likely a crash...

UPDATE: I solved it by complete deleting the "Baldur's Gate 3" folder inside %LocalAppData%\Larian Studios after a clean reinstallation without mods and stuff and worked like a charm, putting this update in case this can help someone

I have a Larian Studios Folder in "My Documents" and it won't delete! Is this the same folder?
UPDATE: Deleted the stubborn folder using this guide:
Unfortunately, the geme still crashes after the opening cut scene (worm insertion).
Sigh. looks like I will have to do a full reinstallation. I was hoping to avoid this, as my internet is pretty slow.
I ran a search for "larian" and "larian studio" folders and deleted everything, restarted, reinstalled from scratch, and now it's running properly. Well. "properly".
Except for half of the party not following my MC or each other.

UPDATE: Unistalled the game. And Reinstalled via Steam.
Same deal. Crash.
I did notice that the "Patch 8 profile I created previously was still there, albeit with no save games because of crashes before character creation. Where is this found? Could this have any impact?
I also disabled cloud saving on Steam. Also no effect. Still crashes.
