Hi All,

Firstly, I have not yet bought the game and I'm basically waiting for the feature to create a full custom party at the start of the game before I do so. Finding party memebers on teh way never interests me. I want to be able to build my whole party from the get go.

Is this feature now available? I read somewhere that Larian were planning to introduce this feature, is this still true?

No, the ability to create custom parties is not really available at the moment. Then again, this is EA. If you want to play with most/all features implemented, you might have to wait until full release.

Larian said they plan to let players create a full party (in a Reddit AMA, and possibly elsewhere). As to whether this is still true, who knows ? Larian made other announcements that turned out to be false, and never notified us of it.


Now, there is a work around. If you launch 4 instances of the game (through the .exe file, not the launcher, and setting the graphic settings to lowest), you can create a multiplayer game with one instance and have the other 3 instances join that game. This is how people do a custom party at the moment.

I really, really hope I can make custom characters without playing multiplayer with myself. Like at an Inn that isn't on fire...in Act 1. Further more, I hope they have at least two voices per gender that make relevant banter that gets some generic feedback from existing dialog. They had to have generic banter in place to accommodate future origin characters from the start.

Custom character parties are pretty much a foundational feature in D&D.

Go to an Inn and find some hirelings.

This isn't like a Day/Night cycle, that would require massive re-coding.
