So I love gnomes are a thing, but they look...well, literally like all you did was downscale a half elf to about halfling size. I do hope in the future, gnomes will look more like gnomes, and less like someone just popped open a 3D editor and shrank the existing races.

The arms are to long, watching the panel from hell and the female has her fingers reaching her knee length.

Gnomes pretty much look like they do in the books. The only issues I have with them (apart from hating them as a race wink ), is that male Svirfneblin (deep gnomes) can choose to have hair (the default is correctly bald though) and they lack their innate spell(s).
Other than that... they are fine as is.

In general, I'm not a fan of playing the shorter races, but I found myself thinking the gnomes looked pretty good.

I *highly* disagree. They didn't even try to keep anything remotely proportional. I get it's early access and all but...yeah. All I can say is I hope they actually look gnomish later on and they properly proportion things like the face, the head, etc.

Funny enough, i like them as they are ...
Come on, we knew how gnomes will lookalike from NPCs ... at least in Grymforge there is many of them ...

What makes me sad tho is that there is no cute face for females. frown
And NPCs (again especialy from Grymforge) have several of them. frown

I still dont understand why cant we change Race for our hirelings. frown

I like the femlae gnome faces a lot. And there are definitively cute ones.

I must say that I find the proportions of the gnomes much better than the halflings. Could both races benefit from a bit (or a lot in the halflings case) of rework? Of course. But gnomes are not bad.

I was going to comment on the irony that is the fact that, aside from the fact that the hands are a little over-large, there's some jank at the hips, and the neck region is still *Yikes*, the proportions they've given the gnomes would actually suite halflings quite well - far better than current halflings at least - while Gnomes are meant to have more exaggerated features.

I did go into the CC to look up, which numbers the faces have - I like 1, 3, 4 - especially the latter two

I even made a gnome rogue to play alongside my halfelf bard

I edited my post to put in a pic of my little gnome. And yes, we probably have.

Hardly looks like a gnome. Maybe an elf?
Larian's sense of D&D races just boggles the mind:

THEY NEARLY ALL LOOK LIKE COSPLAYING HUMANS FROM EARTH AND I HATE IT. Everytime I see a humanoid character model throughout the game I am reminded of that. Talk about non-immersion. Most monsters/creatures are totally fine though!
Please make the race more...fantasystic(?!?)
Its like they took your regular human body, scanned it using that fancy multi million dollar tech, and slightly tweaked the sizes/proportions for all the races. Same goes for the faces.

Their forearms and hands are way too big. The giant heads feel right to me, but the arms look a bit off-model and I would make adjustments to those.

See, and does it not bother you that this gnome is literally just an elf shrank?

I just think it would be cool if they made gnomes stand out some more.

The problem is, that every race looks like humans basically, which gets adressed a lot.

This might be a unpopular notion but I've always pictured gnomes with pointy crocked noses. That would imo help them stand out a bit more from halvelves/halflings

The issue the OP is having seems mostly related to female gnomes it seems (apart from the slightly oversized hands which applies to both genders). Male gnomes look nothing like resized elves, especially not with their rather prominent noses.
I still think the gnomes are fine though and are one of the few demi-human races that don't look too human.
