How do I remove my scent to catch the baby spider?

Go into the alchemist's house - and tell the guard, the chieftain's son sent you - then take/use the white cream

I use the white cream but the little a-hole still attacks me. Also, where in creation is the hero imp? I've looked all around, even southeast of the chiefs hut like someone told me and he's nowhere to be seen.

... Um... wearing the stuff isn't enough. You also have to tickle him in the right place, like the spider guy (who gave you the quest) said.

The hero imp is to the north of the imp camp. Just as you enter the spider forest, past the guard, take a left. He should be there somwhere.

Tickle it? All I can do is click on it to attack. I know I have to tickle the left side but the circle around the spider is still red.

press `C` to turn off combat-mode before approaching the spider. try that.

Rather odd. All i ever need to do is just approach the spider, and i'm forced into a "dialogue" with it. :x

Sounds like you do not have the quest for the spider. btw it is not a baby spider... there are many of those also, but not the one you want.

Was the odour removing cream the last one you used? At least a couple of the others are scented, though I don't know if that would cause the spider to attack or not.
