Bards are well known to be the reason to multiclass. Please start working on multiclass capabilities to maximize gameplay potential.

I think they confirmed multi classing for the full release but not for EA.

I do not remember where exactly I read this. It was a long time ago.

The wording was a bit dodgy, but what they originally claimed is that we would get multiclassing by the end of EA, after all classes were included.
Then again, chances are plans changed since then, especially since I'm getting the vibe Larian people found themselves biting more than they could chew.

On a personal note, I'm not the biggest fan of multiclassing (and that's true in general across the board, not just in D&D) so I can't really say I'm particularly anticipating the feature.
I find it a bit too meta-gamey for my taste.

While i definitely want multiclass as a feature for release, i think playtesting lvl 5 and the remaining classes is more important right now.

In fact, playtesting lvl 5 is probably more important than hhe rest of the classes, because the jump in player power from 4 to 5 is huge. Underdark and Grymforge seem like they could be lvl 5 areas and should probably be tested that way.

assuming they want to fix game systems or level they still have to get the basics working first and that boils down to Monk and Pally now... as it stands each patch breaks as much as it fixes so the to do list isn't really getting shorter imo

Luke Skywalker: I don't, I don't believe it.
Yoda: That is why you failed.

Yes to all points of view...ultimately i don't want this feature to quietly disappear.

With the changes they have made, particular to range, I will most definitely want to multi-class.

Just implement it and don't try to anticipate all the possibilities...just make it work.

It just works...right, anyway kind of wonder if well get a homebrew multiclass system. Truthfully I don't really care if they introduce the other classes or level 5, just wish they would fix some of the crap like the combat log spam and super big minimap.

My concern is that Swen mentioned they're a few months off being feature complete, in development, and we haven't heard hide nor hair of multi-classing since, years ago, when it was first mentioned as a thing they were intending to do. We've not seen anything even suggesting multi-classing is being back-ended to work, we've not seen any preliminary UIs for it, the Level Up screen still has no obvious preparation for being able to multi-class.... it looks currently like it's been forgotten, for all intents and purposes... and Swen says they're almost feature complete. That's my concern.

Exactly why I support this thread, because I haven't forgotten.

It's all laid out here. Just code it as written.

“Multiclassing rule will follow closely the 5e DnD,” Vincke said. “On level up characters will be able to continue with their current class or choose a new class, provided they meet the requirements.”

So yes we will be able to to at some point. The focus now is (and probably should be) on making the classes work and feel good to play as they are. We most likely won't see it implemented until release or late in EA.

Found the reference...Final release is what matters with all features.

Swen litteraly said that he can Re-confrim multiclassing is still planned, but we should expect it by the end of EA, when all classes will be done ... but then he said that maybe they change their minds and release it sooner tho. laugh

Now I can make my BardBarian.

Can't find the video, but its basically a joke build where the player takes one level of everything.

On a serious not it will be fun to add utility to some strong classes.
