I admit it... I am a level up junkie. I like to get more powerful and stronger as I play. I like the larger damage, larger health pools, and larger selection of skills. I know that we are in Beta and they have a cap on for a reason. BUT.... every time is see the message "max level" is hit on the character screen.. I lose the ambition to keep going, and usually delete and start a new character. Its a curse I guess from most of the other games I have played. Level caps usually mean you are at the end of the game. Even though I know its just Beta, and we are just in the beginning of it. I just can not shake it, and have no drive to push forward. Maybe I am unique in this thinking. I am sure I will enjoy myself once this is fully released.

why not download the lvl up mod from the nexus that increases the level cap from 4 to 10?

The Level up mod is not updated for patch 8, but the mod Expansion lets you level up to level 6 at least.

Level 6 is about where you end up anyway.

Some items in the Underdark feel like level ups. Wizards definitely feel different before and after Saphire Spark. If you push through to the end of early access, plenty of goodies will make your party increasingly powerful.
