I don't know if this was added with the latest patch or if I simply never noticed before but... shoutout to whoever from the dev team gave this lovely idle animation to Omeluum (a really interesting character that I hope we see more of when the full game releases) in which he can be seen using his psionic powers to write runes in the air as if in front of an invisible blackboard.
So, so cool

An Omeluum Companion would be super interesting unique experience, but difficult to implement. It would be better for Larian to work on story, characters, quests and opportunities to influence the game world, and not on new classes and playable races. Most players will play as one of the races and classes, with a maximum of two on the second playthrough.

I'm pretty sure he did that in Patch 7 as well, noticed it as I was selling things to his Hobgoblin colleague ^^

But yes, he was a very pleasant surprise as an NPC. And I found it funny playing as a nice Githyanki Barbarian, that at every single point throughout the conversation the option "[Githyanki] Die ghaik!" never went away, no matter how friendly he was

+1 for Omeluum in general.

Love Omeluum too. I hope, we see more of him.

YES! Or just non-hostile Illithid entities in general (But Omeluum ESPECIALLY). Maybe a quest where we help a Mind Flayer become an Alhoon to avoid being taken over by an Elder Brain. While we are too low a level to justify a Mind Flayer companion, it would be something really cool for a higher level campaign (BG4, anyone?).
