Does anyone else feel like it gets harder and harder to trigger companion scenes with each patch that comes out? I can't remember the last time I have gotten the Astarion startgazing and mirror scenes, or any major Gale scene, or anything that concerns Wyll. And these are just examples. I ususally do 1-2 playthroughs per patch. I feel like, as development of EA goes on, companions are getting less and less reactive and involved in my story because I just never see their defining scenes, even though I often long rest way more than I need to in order to try and trigger them.
So is it me? Am I doing something wrong? Or should it be made much easier to trigger these scenes? Are some scenes restricted to the 'major camp' in the wilderness, meaning they cannot trigger in mini-camps (underdark, chapel, etc.)?

In my latest playthrough, the camp scenes were more spread out but I did eventually get more of them. (For only 2 companions though... and I left Shadowheart on the beach/at the grove until she ninja-invited herself at the Shattered Sanctum bridge scene; otherwise she still got priority exclamation-mark dialogue - and the extra approval/disapproval... I thought they were supposed to change that)
In previous patches I could get Raphael + bite or Raphael + dream. In patch 8 I got one event max per night. I finally got Gale's artifact dialogue on long rest 11, the longest LR count, and Astarion's bite scene two long rests after the sickness scene, again the longest LR count. Surprisingly, I got one of Lae'zel's camp dialogues when I accidentally clicked her in the wilderness near Scratch... I don't know if that was a bug or if they are implementing companion dialogue/scenes outside of camp.
I also haven't tested whether this was related to camp location, relationship level, quest progress, or even some combination of the three. Might be worth investigating (but I'll probably do it closer to release when that info might help the first full run).

Some companion scenes, such as Gale’s weave scene, have been bugged from the start for me. I have never gotten Astarion’s stargazing or mirror scenes, either. I hardly get any approval from Astarion, though, so that might be a factor for his scenes?

I think, if you are playing a decent being -and I assume that you as Halsin fan play that way- , you hardly get any approval from Astarion. I remember, that I had his scenes, but I never got approval for it.

I do really hope that this will be sorted at the full release and that it will be far harder to miss companion scenes. That said, in my patch 8 playthrough I did think I got more of the Gale and Astarion conversations despite not actually trying for them, though not sure how much that was coincidence or having got in the habit of doing things in a particular order (e.g. long resting at certain points, or talking to Zorru before any other healer leads to get Astarion's stargazing scene) rather than because Larian have fixed anything. I didn't spot anything about this in the patch notes, but there were a lot of them! Surprisingly, I got one of Lae'zel's camp dialogues when I accidentally clicked her in the wilderness near Scratch... I don't know if that was a bug or if they are implementing companion dialogue/scenes outside of camp. There is one of Lae'zel's dialogues - one about the Tears - that she will give outside the camp, and then she'll say again next time I long rest so I assume that's a bug. I think I noticed this in a previous patch too. Not sure if this was the same one you came across?

I thought it was a bug because she said, look up at the sky, my creche is there among the Tears... but it's bright daylight. I can't see any stars, let alone other celestial bodies, Lae'zel! But if we could trigger camp-only scenes outside of camp, it would be easier to squeeze in more companion interactions and fewer would be missable just because you don't long-rest a set amount of times after a certain number of quests/events.

But if we could trigger camp-only scenes outside of camp, it would be easier to squeeze in more companion interactions and fewer would be missable Agreed. Some scenes make sense only in camp/at night, like the Lae'zel Tears conversation as you say, but there are others that would make as much sense out in the world and could result in yellow exclamation marks popping up over heads as soon as trigger points are reached. In fact, even if the conversation needs to happen in camp it might be helpful to have the exclamation appear once conditions were met even if the companion only said something like "I want to talk, but perhaps it had better wait until we stop for the night". Some conversations could also be triggered by short rests, which might make them feel more like rests and less like just pressing a button to get HP. And, as many people have said before, if only certain companions' dialogue didn't take priority and instead everyone who had something to say pitched in or there could be multiple cutscenes in one night. Anyway, I know there's loads of good feedback on this site already about issues with companion interactions and possible solutions, so hopefully our new(ish) community managers are looking through and feeding back suggestions!

It's been all Gale for me in this playthrough. I even triggered what looks like romance path for him, which I think is new. Astarion got his bite scene (and survived this time around -oh, am I not merciful).

To be fair I think it is more realistic given how many rest players are taking on average.
The pace feels for natural (to me) at the moment.
The only odd thing remaining am oddity to me is how aggressive they suddenly turn on camp night, regardless of your gender or specie!
