I use separate profiles to play different characters. Whenever I create a new profile, I have to manually update the settings (Game Play, Keybinds, Video, Audio, Interface).
Is there any way to copy the settings from a current profile to a new profile so I don't have to update this manually each time?

Yes. I just copy the key files from one profile into the new profile. Don't copy mod settings.lsx as that's where you used mods are recorded.

You should be able to.

• Click the Windows button on your keyboard and type %appdata%.
• Then go to: .../AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\PlayerProfiles
• And then just copy-paste the config files from one profile to another profile

Typing \%LOCALAPPDATA%\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\PlayerProfiles in the navigation bar in windows file explorer and hitting enter should also take you there directly, instead of having to go to appdata, then a directory up to find local appdata. Basically what Crimson said, just skips a step

you can swap saves between different profiles anyway... its a true dog's breakfast design once you add crossplay

thanks all. Appreciate the info. I should have specified that I am a Mac user. These are the files located in /Users/xxxx/Documents/Larian Studios/Baldur's Gate 3/PlayerProfiles/ for a profile that I have.

I create a new profile and copy these files into it. When I go restart the game, the new profile has disappeared. It is as if the files are tied to profile they were created under.

I wouldnt copy profile8.lsf or modsettings.lsx. The rest should be fine to copy and paste into a new profile.

And to be clear, before doing that. Make a new profile ingame, complete character creation and enter the tutorial level..then copy and paste the above files into the new profile.
