Title.

Druids, according to the Player's Handbook, can shift into animal forms they've seen before.
When we pass by new animals, we should be able to shift into them afterward. ie. Squirrels as a current example that is not available.

Every character and creature in the game already have stat blocks that you can literally just look at in-game, so I don't see a reason why this shouldn't be a thing.

While it would be cool, it would probably also be a crazy amount of work to make it player facing. There are tons of animals so you would need a lot of player specific animations, icons and more for those. Game dev just isn't that simple.

We were told that there will be (lots?) of additional Wild Shape forms ...
But i would also expect it to be limited list, rather than "learn anyting you have ever seen" ...

I still dont understand why cant we change Race for our hirelings. frown
Lets us play Githyanki as racist as they trully are! frown

We do get more forms as we level up at least.

The real issue is they completely botched the balance between Moon and Land druid's wildshapes. Moon Druid only gets Bear as an exclusive form, but Bear isn't significantly better than Dire Wolf (which should also be Moon exclusive at this level) or Deep Rothe.

It should go:

All Druids: Cat, Giant Badger, Wolf (weaker version of Dire Wolf), Deep Rothe.
Moon Druid Exclusive: Giant Spider, Dire Wolf, Bear.

Raven shouldn't be available until level 8, but Flight isn't that great in BG3 anyway so eh.

Don't get me wrong, Bonus Action Wildshape is great, but only having one unique form for the shapeshifting druid sub-class is pretty disappointing.
