i'll send a save along to larian, but thought i'd pass along exactly the sequence that (seems to) start the horrid slowdown (running through honey) and eventual monsters that don't attack - at least this was it for me.

after completing the larger mushroom forest i returned to finish the last couple quests i had (before finishing with alchemist).
i stopped at the imp ghost and told him of the sister.
i then went to confront her.
after leaving tent, there is no 'illumination' around character's position (NOT fog of war, just the light). you'll then have difficulty getting into other tents and, eventually, attempting to enter BF6 the monsters no longer attack.
to alleviate this, just DON'T talk to the sisters after the ghost's disappearance.

I think your problems are unrelated to that particular quest. I talked to the sisters after solving the quest from the ghost, and had no problems. Actually, I reloaded and talked to both sisters first (resulting in two different outcomes).
I was going to check an old save under 1.45 and see if the glitch with the permanent intelligence potion in the lich cave was fixed, so will try this sequence again.

For the lack of light, did you accidentally go into sneak mode? I thought the bug where monsters could stop attacking was fixed in a previous patch.

hiya raze.
i would agree with you that the particular quest is not the only contributor to the bug...but it's part of it. i could do ANYTHING else BUT talk to the sisters, and experience no problems what-so-ever.

the light i'm talking about is definitely part of the issue. no, i didn't go into sneak mode.
i tried this for over 2 full hours, with 8 different save spots and EVERY TIME i went to confront the sisters it created the issue.
like you, i have a zillion saves and can go back and test out theories quite easily.
i had a problem, so tried to fix it with patch 1.45.
that didn't work. and in fact caused the started game to say it had detected a problem, etc. etc. - so i went back to a place where it no longer gave me that fault and that was 3 days ago.
i slowly came forward (toward today) testing each save (and agreeing with the game's desire to 'fix' whatever it found) and found i had no issues with entering BF6 in act II - if i just went straight there.
not until i chose a later save (those after having talked with the sisters) did the problems surface.
so i went back again and completed tasks until i found the culprit.
i tested it at least 20 times, different ways.
the conversation with the sister sparks the bug. whether that is talking to a particular sister, having the one commit suicide or leaving their tent, i don't know. but something there is the problem.
i was quite thorough for the tools at hand.

but i also agree with you - there are a ton of reasons this could be the button for me, including past corruptions, etc.
that's for the larians to figure out.
and with the save file in their hands, hopefully they can.

I am pretty sure that this problem is unique to the battlefields only. I cannot remember running into it in the main game and I have been through the game 2 1/2 times so far. I have run into it in the battlefields on several occassions though.

IMHO, the problem may be related to the problem where items lose their properties. That bug seems to screw up the monsters in the dungeons, causing them to either fight barehanded, or (again my opinion) not attack at all, which seems to put the game in slow motion.

Whatever the reason, the Larian folks are aware of it, and it has been posted several times on the forum.

I have been playing in the "after-game" dungeons since the new patch came out and after 8 straight dungeons have not seen the problem occur again (maybe just lucky though).

You know, I was going to put a little disclaimer in there in case you had done various tests to narrow the problem down exactly, but then I figured it was too much typing.

hey grim.
yeah the 'real' problem occurs in the BF...but if you know what to look for, the precursor is in the regular land too. at least, this was my case.
at raze - ha!!! i can see that buddy. hmmmm. 32 THOUSANDS words you've typed so far, and an extra 20 are too much of a caveat!

We have Lego's savegame, and it's indeed related to the sisters, though it depends who you talk to first: if you talk to Parixa first, no problem. Will solve it, though, but this may help you for now.
