Hello fellow adventurers!

I have been following this D&D adaptation from time to time, although not many information regarding modding and engine scalability I could find. So here is my question: I would like to play half-marilith (Half-Marilith). Ideally my character would have 4 arms armed with 4 silver khopesh/katana. It will be Chaotic Evil alignment.

Is this possible? Will I be able to make a mod to play this race in this game?

We barely have a single playable race outside the player hand book, and it is there solely because it is so closely tied to the narrative of the game. A homebrew race has pretty much no chance to be officially made.

But don't despair, people have already modded races into the game (see https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/215). A race with four arm would probably be very hard to implement though.

Oooh, having four arms would be fantastic, perfect for wrapping Christmas presents.

Try Knights of the Chalice 2. It has mantis as a playable race, and they have 4 arms. You can select a maralith icon to represent it, and just pretend that it is a half=maralith. Multi-attack and off hand weapon attacks (with multiple additional arms) are both supported in that game, and can be quite strong.

I don't think that 5e even has a mechanism for using weapons in four arms, though would not surprise me if that is just me being ignorant.

Going to be honest, that stat block is a mess, and if I were your DM you'd be getting a hard no from me.

The chances of us getting our preferred homebrew content done is very low, that's not to say that we will never get any homebrew content, after all, we currently have a whole homebrew ranger subclass, but I wouldn't bet money on your favourite homebrew being put in.

Older editions had specific mechanics for getting additional attacks with more arms, but that was also when you got many extra attacks from other sources. In 5e, extra attack is actually quite rare, and it isn't given out by racial stat blocks. Look at Thri-kreen for an example of how four armed races work in 5e.

Thri-kreen should have their leap ability. /sadpanda

As much as I like the telepathy, I would have preferred the standing leap, as you can get telepathy from other sources.

With modding and stuff like that? Maybe and that is not my expertise.

In the game without modding?
Here is my answer for that theory:
I would guess with over 98% sure it will not be included when game is fully released. They have only promised Players Handbook stuff and that race is not there as playable race. That being said we have Githyanki race as playable race in BG3 and that race is not in Players Handbook. That means this game is not 100% limited to Players Handbook.
