seems unlikely to me tbh. What's so special about Helia compared to, say Minsc? But of the unadded companions, we got Karlach and Minsc in the mtg tie-in, but no Helia. The card set actually spoiled a fair bit of the game. Seems notable that she was the only one excluded.

Larian has become more and more profecient at hiding leftover of the release build from the main build. I remember the earlier builds having tons of them and those got cleaned up after a while. Helia leftovers being ereased was a matter of time, but I don't think it means anything for this character's future.

This is also true. I remember Chubblot talking about how much better they were getting better at hiding stuff. they have hidden a lot of Minsc's stuff from the beginning (but strangely never all of it) But on the other hand, why would Helia be so much more completely, so as to be erased from the mtg product, missing from the datamines etc. She's a wholey new character, not a returning celebrity like Minsc, not some established fan favorite from the novels or anything. It just doesn't make much sense to hide her, of all the characters.

Everyone already know Minsc, he is the most recognised face of Baldur's Gate after all. It isn't a surprise he would be used to promote products even at that stage.
We already know Karlach appearance, race, class, backstory and that she will be a future companion through her dialogues. The genie is already out so might as well add her too.
Helia is a still mystery for all except some rare people who are invested in datamined content.

Helia has been modified so many times.
From what I remember, she was originally supposed to play the role of Halsin, then she was changed to a bard.
They may have decided to remove her.
It's possible that some other character will replace her.

Only question is if she planned to be in why has she not a card, are magic going to release more cards when bg3 is released?

This is one of the reasons im worried we wont get more companions

She most likely doesn't have a card because why would you include a character that hasn't appeared once officially? People would be quite confused by that random character among all the familiar faces.

Wasnt Karlach a random bg3 character?
according to her wiki her only appearances are in bg3 and magic. And when the cards came out she wasnt in the game yet

Karlach definitely was in the game since the beginning for the "hunt the devil" quest line :

I'd say that is probably enough of an appearance for her to be featured.

I haven't played in a while and I know her look has changed a couple of times. What the heck does Karlach even look like now?

Like this :

iirc, she had 4 versions : the "made with the character creator" look, the "bald" look, the "modern look" a the "modern look with improved hair colours".

It should also be noted that at this point the cards are old. Not only have they been out for a bit, but they had to finalize, print and pack them all before the actual release of the deck. They had to have been in talks with Larian early on in development and things could have simply changed since when the cards were being done.

Im looking forward to seeing the good classes fingers crossed they bring a few out

I would love a paladin Companion, (and some class based quested to go with), taking over a paladin order and running it in bg2 was awesome, id like to do that again
