Hi.
After meeting Cpt. Mitox and accepting the quest to blow up the orcs, you have the option to visit the camp just west to get some free equipment.
When I get there, some bugger casts a spell and turns all the soldiers hostile. Must I kill them to get the equipment Cpt. Mitox talked about?
If I kill all the mind-controlled dudes, does this make me evil(lose rep), or turn other soldiers or Mitoa or Alix against me afterwards.

Is Splitting arrows a good skill? (I have 2 lvls in it)
Is Deadly gift a good skill? (I have 1 lvl in it. Should I add more?)
Can you buy trail bombs, spider traps and all that, or can they only be found.
How many levels in freeze are sufficient?
Other skill tips?
Charms and enchant item skill. Should I go for this?

[color:"yellow"] no, it has no effect whatsoever on you rep - you can do it for the exp, or run away - the soldiers will turn back to normal after a while [/color]

[color:"yellow"] Tingalf sells some - and maybe Finnegan at the thieves guild in Verdistis (I am not sure about the latter) Best trap is scorpions though [/color]
How many levels in freeze are sufficient?
[color:"yellow"] Depends on whether you have a weapon with frost, in which case you would need none in magic skill. Otherwise, the higher the level, the longer the spell effect, and you will be thankful! [/color]
Other skill tips?
[color:"yellow"] As mentioned "poison weapon", "augment damage", "lock pick", "hellspikes!!!" [/color]
Charms and enchant item skill. Should I go for this?

If you look on your mini map you will see them as red crosses. All red crosses are hostile and therefore you can kill them without losing rep.
You may see some green crosses on your mini map and when you go near them,they turn red becuase they have become hostile. Here you can kill these without losing rep or you can just run away and you will see the character as a green cross again when you have run far enough.
Can you buy trail bombs, spider traps and all that, or can they only be found.
Blake also sells them sometimes but they can also be found as a random drop.
Other skill tips?
Some wizards skills can be bought or found,indeed i was a rogue and only spent 1 skill in wizardary and that was hellspikes in the very begining of the game.

split arrows combined with poison weapon, the survivor skill will kill anything. You don't need freeze or any other skill.
The question is not, Can they reason? nor, Can they talk? but, Can they suffer?

I didn't kill the mind-controlled solders. I performed role-playing : I decided that this wasn't their fault to be mind-controlled, and I ran away, deciding to hunt down the "controllers" instead.
When you find a big kettle of crazy, it's best not to stir it.

When i killed them it looked like i didnt get any experience points? Or does it mean you have to kill a lot or all to get points? Respectfully Syrholmes Sidenote: After you killed all the soldiers a note on the bulliton board at storm fist castle appears from janus. deadliest combo: freeze something and then use hell spikes Lv 5 on it killls bosses 2-3 hits <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/evilgrin1.gif" alt="" /> ahh i love that skill.
