I'm still waiting and hoping for a PC port of Ghost of Tsushima (still PS5 exclusive). Conversely, one can also respect that BG 3 is coming out for PC first and one should be happy that it's coming out for Xbox and PS5 at all...

BG3 will release 7pm CET, 1pm EST, 10am PST on August 3rd. That means Asia will get BG3 very late on the 3rd and Eastern Australia 3am August 4th.

The reason is that Steam are located in PST and can only support the release from the morning their time. I guess they expect server download issues they have to address immediately.

Larian wanted the release during the morning in Europe and midnight US east coast, but that would be 9pm in Bellevue near Seattle on the west coast where Steam is located. I guess nobody at work when a 150 GB game releases is a recipe for disaster. So Larian wisely decided to postpone the release a few hours.

I've purchased on GOG. Any idea what time this will launch there? They are Europe based so I guess they wouldn't have a problem launching in the morning CET?

Ok I retract. Forget Xbox and switch and ps5.

Mac and pc launched together for early access. They should have launched together for full release.

Why?

Because that’s my opinion.

Unless there is something in Steams contract that prevents devs from releasing titles earlier on other platforms.

100% PC (Windows/macOS) versions are quite different and have very different development and testing (standards). Sony, Xbox (MS) or Nintendo have very strict performance guidelines and many internal (quality) verification processes... PC has none of these...

Nice. 2 hours earlier than what Swen told us in the interview.

I guess the Steam people in Bellevue wanted to get to work as early as 8am so they too can play as early as possible. 😊

Larian Studios just posted a global release launch with times 2 hours earlier than what Swen Vincke said in his last interview. There is no info about Steam or GOG so we can expect the release times be applicable for both. Otherwise it wouldn't have been a global launch.

That means 5pm for us living in CET.

as of the time you asked your question the Gog backup servers where out of sync with their main servers and that caused the Galaxy 2.0.68 patch to fail for many users...

assuming you got the patch before it all went to shit or Gog wakes up in the next week then the map every one is posting is best case senario for both Steam and Gog i.e, fingers crossed and what could go wrong?

I bought the game two weeks ago, thinking that the Mac version would come together with the PC version.
Now there's not even a date for the mac release... I'm really disappointed.

Truth be told, I even wanted a refund.

There were information everywhere it would be on the 31rd. Then together with the early release....
The amount of disinformation surrounding the game's release date is astounding!

I'm really truly disappointed. By the time the game releases, I will probably know all the spoilers.

For those who did testing, and paid 60€ for it, they get a clown costume... Of course, you will have to pay for it as well.
