In the past, you used to be able to donate 200 gold worth of stuff to a shopkeeper and you would go from 0 to 100 attitude. This increased what they'd offer for gear and decreased what they charged. And it stacked with charisma, so it helped to do this with your party's face who would handle all transactions.

But now I find that donating 200 gold worth of stuff only bumps the attitude up by 20. And giving subsequent amounts doesn't move the needle at all. I haven't checked yet to see if trying again after a long rest changes anything. Or if you have to wait so many hours of play to give another donation.

Anyone else figure out the new rules?

I just found the answer to my own question. After a long rest you can get another 20 attitude for another donation. So the cost of buying improved attitude has gone up 5 times, since it looks like you need 200 gold for each 20 points now. With long rests in between.

I do't have any problems with needing long rests between "donations". I can just keep donating as much/often as I want with no need for resting or anything. Weird that you do and I don't. Love the quality of this game.

There' nothing to stop me from donating. I just don't get any attitude adjustment for the next donation unless I long rest between donations.

So I give 200 gold and get +20 attitude (instead of the +100 I used to get). I give another 200 gold and get no change in attitude. I long rest and donate 200 gold, and I get another +20 attitude bringing it up to 40.

Someone in another thread (I can't remember where I'm afraid) said that the donation works but doesn't update the UI or something to that effect until you rest and the vendor updates.
