I've just lost a 10hr game because my other playthrough overwrote all my auto and quick saves from my other character. It was not clear from the load game screen that it was a 15 save limit across all characters.

My suggestion would be to change the auto save limit to be per character and not in total.

Attach an internal ID to each new playthrough and append that to the file name eg. 123_QuickSave_1, 123_QuickSave_2

It's because someone decided to drop the profiles, and revert to just 1 profiles containing all your saves. It will do the same with Quicksaves.
There are a lot of other drawbacks in the profiles being removed. (like modding vs no-modding, single-player settings vs. multi-player settings etc.)
Really think it's one of the worst changes they could have come up with.

So please give us back the profiles!!

Agree on that, saving per character is great, but should be saving per profile / per character

I absolutely love the new set up.
Creating automatic save folders for each character is great.

However sharing quick-saves and auto-saves defeats the purpose of separate folders.
Writing over another character's saves without warning is not good design and will result in much frustration from folks who play multiple characters.

Sorry to say, but they really messed things up.
Looking at diskfiles / save folders here's what they did:

They made 1 profile, called it Public, and in that disk-folder save all your manual saves / autosaves / quicksaves.
Somewhere in the game they tagged saves as belonging to your character.
They do this on character-name.
This automaticly means that, when creating characters, and playing as Tav, you get a screen full off Tav's to choose from......

So actually the two things they did was removing profiles, and tagging saves with a character name.
It is by far the biggest design fault / change / mess-up I have ever seen in a game. (and believe me I have seen a few)
