If you twin spell a single-target non-damaging spell, such as hold person or tasha's laughter, it uses the same awful targeting setup as Bless/Bane where you cannot choose targets, it just picks the closest creature. This is really fun since it will happily target allied creatures if they stand between two enemies. Even if no allies get in the way, you cannot target the enemies you want in many cases.

Every "X Targets" spell in this game should let you pick each target individually, similarly to how Scorching Ray works.

I'd have to agree, twinning these spells actually makes them somewhat useful, as DCs are so low in the early game that they rarely work. But, with targeting as it functions now, using twin is a complete mess. The functionality, if added, could be later applied to a whole host of spells and abilities that allow one to pick the target in the 'area of effect'.

so they are still allowing non cantrip spells to be twinned? Hope they plan to fix that before release

+1 that "every 'X Targets' spell in the game should let you pick each target individually." At the very least, nearby allies shouldn't be included as possible targets for these multi-target offensive spells, and enemies shouldn't be included for multi-target support spells.

Non-cantrip spells can be twinned RAW (for a higher Sorcery Point cost).

Are you thinking of Quicken, where Larian is allowing players to cast full-level spells after a Bonus Action (Quickened or regular) spell, rather than restricting the action-cost spell to a cantrip as per RAW?

Yep, sorry was thinking of broken quicken - but I am sure I saw someone talk about twinning a fireball, which is definitely not RAW - so if that doe swork, it needs to be changed.

Oh for sure. You should only be able to twin *single-target* spells.

I would perhaps allow the twinning of single-target spells that are being upcast to hit extra targets, but only for a single additional target. E.g., For Command cast at 2nd level=2 targets, you can spend 1 Sorcery Point to hit another target.
