Playing around with my Wizard and I found a few Cleric spell scrolls. Can't copy them into my spellbook anymore.

I knew this fix was coming but it still makes me sad. My long history with DnD has gotten me accustomed to playing Wizards that dumpster dive other people's spell lists and I enjoyed being able to do the Necromancer High-Five in BG3. Ah well. Sad to see it go but I understand why it had to happen.

Now I hope they will stop allowing characters to use scrolls of spells that are not on their spell list so every class is going to be even more unique.

Yep, I doubt it though - spamming/abuse of scrolls for non-spell casters is now pretty entrenched. I think many fights would be get significantly more challenging if they applied the correct 5E rules - that is the consequence of breaking all the existing balance in 5E with arbitrary design choices. They also won't implement something like magic item attnement for the same reason.

Poisoners Robe and Sapphire Spark were also nerfed. Imo that hurts the wizard even more.
Before patch 9 Gale was basically a must have in my party, I included him in every run. Now I replaced him with Wyll for more fireball spam (Bard Tav, so 8 fireballs per long rest)

The liberal scroll use has to stop.

1. Multiclassing to gain those abilities will exist. Multiclassing needs to be useful.
2. Eldritch Knight needs to feel unique and viable compared to Battlemaster. Free scroll use makes EK's rather pathetic if Battlemasters get access to the same spells and much more.
3. I don't ever want to see some clueless Fighter or Barbarian launch a Fireball from a scroll. You have to earn that right.
4. I want to see them cast Disintegrate or summon a high level demon from a scroll even less.

Probably higher level spells need to be restricted further as per 5e rules to stop anyone from just splashing 1 level into Wizard and stacking up 5th level scrolls from a vendor and calling it a day.

edit: Wizards are far from fixed since you can still change your prepared spell list at will anywhere. It defeats the purpose of "preparing" entirely. I was hoping it would get sorted since this is the "last patch".

Yeah it was nice to play around with this but I need to agree that a barbarian casting a spell from scroll sounds way out of character.
