Did anyone else notice that in the myconid colony in the underdark next to the sovereign there is a dying girl that was poisoned, if you give her an antidote she mentioned belonging to a certain organisation and say that there are artificers in baldur's gate. The best ones.

Seems like a small hint that we might see the artificer class in the future. I wouldn't expect it at release but there may be expansions of sorts / updates since we'll likely see more subclasses too during the game's life time.

What do you think ? Hint or they just shouldn't have talked about artificers being in baldur's gate at all?

You're probably reading too much into it, I fear. But, the addition of Artificer would be cool.Their Alchemist subclass is pretty underwhelming though, the Battlesmith and Artillerist could result in some interesting game-play however.

you really overthink that. Thulla is just in a deep gnome organization seeking revenge because they are mistreated and exiled. nothing really about the class at all.

IF there will be expansions ...
Adding classes or at least sub classes seems like logical move.

But things will be mentioned bcs they simply belong to this setting. smile
Just luke Minotaurs for example, they exists ... that doesnt mean we will play as one. Would be cool tho. laugh

Also ... if there was big mention of Artificer, i would argue it was whole Lenore tower. smile

The Alchemist should simply be decoupled from the Artificer core class as a separate core class from the start. I would like this much better: https://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Alchemist,_Variant_(5e_Class)

The Alchemist may also be an "inventor" of sorts, but to me is closer to the Cleric, Druid and Wizard who go out and gather ingredients for their concoctions instead of a mechanical tinkerer.

It bothers me that the Alchemist was simply subsumed to the Artificer just to justify the Heal Skills on a Blacksmith etc. pp. it seems to me.

I'd like to see artificer in dlc, or an expansion, if we get them, but I'm not holding out for having them at launch.

Also, I'd be remiss in my obligations if I didn't promote the version of the Alchemist class that I actually have used in multiple campaigns.

I would so love to be able as an artificer gnome. But I agree, that it might be too much to hope for.

I don't recall if "artificer" was mentioned explicitly, but I was convinced in Patch 8 that
Barcus Wroot
was essentially representing that class. If you got him to join your camp and spoke with him, he described his occupation as something like that.

I haven't got that far yet in Patch 9, so I don't know if it's the same. It did make me wonder if artificer would be a playable class, or if he was a going to be a one-off for that.

Very curious if he will be able to join the party later...

Indeed ...
But you must admit that this is some SERIOUS expansion potential. :3

I just hope that if Larian will choose this path (since as far as i heared, they dont usualy do DLCs, but dunno i didnt even know them before BG-3 laugh ) ... they will give that expansion more love than just "here is another class, 1 subclass per existing classes and single new race ... that will be 60€"

I mean, i love DLC as every proper nerd, but i would hope for some story expansion with locations, quests, items and stuff.

On the other hand, many RPGs have that small problem that loot from DLC often outshine regular loot by far. :-/

Its not easy thing to ballance i gues. laugh
