If I don't rename when I want to save my game : the game allow me to save but I won't be able to load the game next time (it won't even appear in the list).

Since patch 9 I have wierd characters when I try to save a game (I just forgot yesterday evening )
I understood pretty fast that it could be an issue so I usually edited the name of all saved games.

If I remove the wierd characters : no issue.
If I don't : it does not save even if the game tell me it has.

The wierd characters are causing bugs.
I've also seen some players on the french BG3 discord complaining about the saves not working (only auto saves worked). I guess they had the same issue.

Playing in French. Not sure if it is the same for all languages.

I've set my game in English and I never had the issue OO
(I also don't use the cloud system)

Are those characters replacing anything or are there just added to the names you've picked?
Seems like an encoding issue on their side.

It would be good to report that I believe (https://larian.com/support/baldur-s-gate-3), although, verifying the game files might be worth trying also?

It is already reported and I have verified game files before (because the game did not lauch).

When you click "save" there is a name automatically added. The caracters are in this auto name. I guess it is numbers.

Does that mean you can't properly play at all OO since you can't load files?

I know it can't be a definitive solution but maybe switch the game to English until they patch it?

The wierd characters in the "suggested" savegame file name are the cause of the problem.

Hello, I play in French and I don't have issues
But now that you mention it, the naming of my savegames are in english : Quicksave_05 etc.
Yes I also noticed the X white squares in the names of saves but it's when I do manual saves.
[Edit : ah if I understand properly, you only have the problem when loading a manual save with the default name]
