If you approach the goblin camp without shadowheart, the artefact rebinds the Tav when it shows up in the cutscene. If I later put Shadowheart back in the party, the artefact does not rebind to her. While I don't actually see a problem with this in game, I feel like it probably breaks her story if she doesn't have her little doohickey. I feel like Tav should be able to give it back somehow.

Swen Vincke said in one of his interviews, that the main player should get this artifact one way or another. It is intended and probably will be a part of Shadowheart's story.

Did you spot that you can have a chat with her about what happened back in camp? I agree it’s not brilliantly handled yet, but at least you can have some conversation about it.

The artefact is a critical story item that’s been tied to a companion. Things will get gradually more awkward the less you interact with Shadowheart - you still need to get it, even if you go out of the way to never interact with Shadowheart in any capacity :hihi:

Funny ...
I feel exactly other way.

In my opinion, Shadowheart should never hold it in her "pod" ...
It should have ben somewhere nearby, where player simply cannot miss it (and if he would, accidentaly or purposefully, it should break out itself and stick to the player as hard as possible, just as it does when we kill her) ... that would give Shadowheart ACTUAL reason to follow us, even (or mainly) if we refuse to have her in our party/camp.

I still dont understand why cant we change Race for our hirelings. frown
Lets us play Githyanki as racist as they trully are! frown

I do think that Tav should be able to choose to try and give it back (but fails because it got stuck) but your following suggestion would be a nice fix!
It wouldn't require the addition of that many more voice lines and animations, at least based on EA content.
But, at this point, I wouldn't be surprised if they grew allergic to thinking about this whole mess 😅

I don't know about anyone else but I've also had it bind to other party members not just Tav. For example, I've selected just Lae'Zel and had her jump over the broken bridge and go up to the area right next to the goblin camp to check the area for loot and it did the whole scene with just her and the artefact bound to HER not Tav. That was in patch 8 so maybe it's not possible in patch 9?
But exactly HOW did she hide the artefact that EVERYONE seems to be looking for? lol.
