Not sure if bug or intended, but after the golem fight and I retrieve the item I made and eject the mold. I place in a new mold and get the error of incorrect combination. I eject the mold, click the crucible, put in ore, click the mold put in a new mold, go to open the lave and get it's suck message from the character. Then unable to interact with the forge again. Cannot interact with the Crucible or the mold. Only thing that can be clicked on is the eject lever, forge lever, and the lava lever. Eject lever say it is stuck, forge lever goes through the animation slam, lava lever says it is stuck. Find the button to raise the forge and click it thinking the process needs a restart. Forge goes back to the top position and still only able to click the eject, lava, and forge levers. Relaoded a save after the fight to see if still persisted and it did. Left area and came back, no change. Long rested and came back no change.

I don’t think this is intended. I managed to make two adamantine items, though I didn’t have two lumps of ore on me during the golem fight, so from memory my sequence after it was (1) retrieve my adamantine armour, (2) raise the platform, (3) collect another lump of ore, (4) eject the old mould, (5) insert a new one, (6) insert new lump of ore, (7) use the hammer lever to go back to the lower level, (8) open the lava flow, (9) use the hammer lever to make my new item.
But if you have a second lump of ore, I don’t see why you’d need to go up and down again. As long as you have new ore in the crucible and a mould in the appropriate place, and the platform is at the bottom, I’d have thought you’d be able to operate the lava flow.
If saving and reloading doesn’t help, then it sounds worth sending your savegame to Larian via their support website or the feedback form on the launcher so they can investigate.

I just ran into this and did this sequence to get it to work - your results may vary:
- Put new mold in - put ore in (get error), put ore in crucible again - hit with the hammer - open the lava gates (this time it wasn't stuck) - hit with the hammer again
got my second item.

Everyone, thank you for your responses and I appreciate the attempt to help, but I am reporting a possible bug. I understand how the forge works, I got one piece made, I have the items needed, I am saying that after the fight, the crucible is not able to be interacted with nor the place to put the molds. Prior to the fight, they could be clicked anywhere and the combination window opens up to place the item in. The only places that can be interacted with after the fight is the eject lever and the lava lever, which say they are stuck. I will see about sending them info on the issue through the launcher, but I do not see how to upload a save file, would they ask for that? I thought that reporting here was a good place.

Reporting here can be good to check if other people are getting the same bug, but if it’s something that not all users are experiencing, like your problem, your save file can help Larian replicate, diagnose and fix the issue. The feedback form lets you attach a (zipped) file. Do you know where to find your files? For me (on PC) they're in C:\Users\[MyUser]\AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\PlayerProfiles\Public\Savegames\Story Each save is in a folder with the savegame and a thumbnail. I've seen some posters here mention that it's helpful if you zip and send the whole folder, including the thumbnail, rather than just the save.
