PC (GOG) - Hotfix #30, system spec is in my signature - I am not using GOG Galaxy to launch the game, nor am I using the Larian launcher, I just launch the game using BG3.exe. - No mods in use.
1. The floor puzzle can be bypassed with lock picking the lever on the wall .. Is this supposed to be allowed?
I thought the only way previously to unlock the lever (and the wall entrance to the underdark), was to complete the floor puzzle - Though I must admit its a few years ago since I tried this puzzle the last time so memory may not be serving me well here.
2. Also a slight quirk in this area, when trying to operate the lever, your NPC walks up the small stairs to position above the lever on the little balcony, you cant just walk up to the lever on the floor level .. Just seems to be a weird pathing issue in this area.

1. The floor puzzle can be bypassed with lock picking the lever on the wall .. Is this supposed to be allowed? Yes, this has always been possible. I think there’s a perception check to find the lever without solving the puzzle. 2. Also a slight quirk in this area, when trying to operate the lever, your NPC walks up the small stairs to position above the lever on the little balcony, you cant just walk up to the lever on the floor level .. Just seems to be a weird pathing issue in this area. But I think this is a new niggle with patch 9 and I noticed it too.
"You may call it 'nonsense' if you like, but I've heard nonsense, compared with which that would be as sensible as a dictionary!"

Ah ok, the lever being pickable just seemed a bit, well, mechanical stones and gears being hacked with a toothpick just doesn't seem right, but its a fantasy game so its not so much of a leap in the suspension of disbelief department, and my main NPC is a magical high elf rogue. I think I was more disappointed at doing myself out of the chance to solve the lovingly crafted puzzle. Good to know someone else also noticed the pathing to the lever, that bugged me more than the lock picking.
