In patch 9, Edowin's companions (Brynna/Andrick) immediately turn hostile on me. This didn't happen in patch 8, where you can have some meaningful dialogue with them before (or instead of) killing them. Is it some reaction to PC race/class or to a companion I have? Playing drow rogue + Shadowheart, Lae'zel, Gale (in patch 8, my party had a drow sorcerer + Shadowheart, Lae'zel, Astarion).

The problem is that it breaks the story continuity: immediately after the encounter, Lae'zel wants to talk and tells me that the Absolute is some mind flayer ploy - but the party has never heard anything about the absolute in the game yet, let alone had a chance to know the adversaries they just killed were Absolute followers.

Looks like a patch 9 bug to me... Anyone else experiencing this?

No, but lots of players are reporting issues with neutral characters turning hostile for reasons that aren't obvious or are plain weird. I wonder if this might be another instance of that problem?

That dialogue worked for me last night. Have you went the back way into the grove, i.e. through the secret passage? Some players have turned the grove hostile by doing that, and some mentioned that those two followers of the absolute outside the grove turned hostile as well.
