Larian Studios Forums Divine Divinity (English) General 3rd Elven Artifact - unable to pick up

Got first two elven artifacts to return to Brothian so he will join the council of seven. However, unable to pick up 3rd item, it's in the far upper right corner by the bookcase. Used alternate key, can see it, unable to retrieve. Also tried picking it up magically with spell. Tried dragging it into inventory, that didn't work out either. Any clues?

Try a higher level of Telekinesis, reload and kill Josephine again, or download the inventory files to get another staff;

Yes, that's a very well known and widespread graphical bug. A *lot* of people experienced this one, including me. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

What I want to know is how to win that frickin' fight against the dwarves. I've tried like 6 times and get slaughtered. I can't seem to win it. I'm dead before I can cast more than two or so spells. I go down there with magic and physical shields in place. The physical shield is destroyed in about 2 seconds and then someone (I assume the woman/demon) casts hell spikes and its all over. I go down there with a ton of magic and healing potions. Doesn't matter. I barely have time to take them and the result is gone from the next hit. I have this on EASY. What the hell is the hard one like? LOL

(I have found Mardeneus in Alteroth, and the Imp, Antx and sent them to the Council. Now I'm trying to get Bronthian by completing this quest and I'm failing miserably. Any suggestions?

I'm very frustrated. Can't seem to get past this portion of the game.

Chasing Josie... techniques for defeating Josephine

Since Josephine is about the toughest opponent in the game, you could leave and do some of the other quests, then return when you are at a higher level with better equipment.
