I was just wondering if anyone thinks, Baldur's Gate 3 might have the classic narrated mise en scene intros of the first games. They already have a narrator, who should be given more exposition regardless, and I've certainly called for some more context to our character be added prior to the opening. Of course something so deliberate and storyteller-y clashes with the high octane opening cinematic, but maybe it can be worked in somewhere, before we wake up on the beach maybe.

Does something like even interest most players?

Me. I would love it. Even then, regardless of the technical possibilities, it was a very clever move to stimulate the individual's own imagination! idea

I liked it, but I don't think they'd ever do it. Not much has been carried over from the original series, not even the good stuff. They'd probably consider it too 'old-fashioned'. We'll probably get more CGI intros though, which are cool but leave nothing to the imagination. People can't be expected to read, or use their imaginations anymore, or be challenged for that matter.

I wasn't thinking of a crawl necessarily but the narrator's voice over, possibly over the crashing nautiloid cinematic, or while you're knocked out on the riverbank.

Love a crawl, but that's what loading screens are for now.

Offtopic: Right, they only do that on the smartphone and still the spelling remains bad because of autocorrect. We actually need a rpg001 for all the smombies. oops

They did something like this at the end of DOS2 when you beat the game. It would be a nice touch between acts or at the beginning of the game to tie things together, but Larian's writing is the worst part of them.
