Game crashing when imabout to enter act 3, after talked to imp.

Have tried different savegames and resolution, fog off and no fsaa..

Im running 1.45 english version, wnglish win xp...

Using a GF 5700 Ultra with latest drivers from nvidia
Nvidia nforce2 chipset with latest drivers
Amd xp2600+ Cpu

All other games runs fine

Do i have to reinstall? have enough free space on drive (about 3 gb)

Anybody i can send savegame to by email?

Did you set your colour to 8 bits as well as lowering the resolution? That should work. It's just trying to run a video clip that doesn't seem to like high colour. You can reset everything after you watch the video clip.

I have had this same problem, when going from Act 2 to Act 3, I can talk to the Imp, but there is a monster in the field of view that starts to attack at the same time, and as soon as your done talking to the Imp my characters attack the monster and it crashes to desk top. Now I have been able to get a save game with pausing right after talking to the Imp, but since I got past there with doing it this way the game is crashing after 5-10mins of game play, and there is no set thing that I see thats causing it. The most common seem to be when talking to Merchants and going threw there items, and going in and out of Battles, its kind of hard to say because they do seem random for the most part.

Now most of this started after I installed the 1.45 patch, I had been in Act 2 at the time, and got the patch and finished Act 2 on Saturday and since then I have been plauged by crashes. I had a few crashes with 1.44, but not like they are now, with 1.43 I never had any crashes nor did I with the fresh install.

System Spec.

AMD Barton 2800
ATI 9700 pro Catalyst 4.5 Drivers in now, had Catalyst 4.3 in untill lastnight.
1 gig Corsair PC3200 DDR
A7N8X mobo
XP pro SP1 and all crit updates.

When I am playing BD I never had to worry about any of the background programs I had running, but now I have everything shut down, and I still get crashes. I have run virus scans with both Nortons and Defender Pro, and they have found nothing. As it is I am at a loss as to what might be the problem. I have tried running the game at different screen settings and this dont help either. I have also gone back to some of my past saved games from Act 2 and the same thing happens there to. I know that I had problems something like this on my old PC with DD, but when I had DD on here I never had any major problems and through out the whole game I only hand a handful of crashes, and most of them came if I had left the game paused for a few hours and went back to playing.

Any help would be greatful, because I would like to finish this in the next week or so before summer gets here.

If you put your characters in peace mode, on normal setting (rather than aggressive) and ignore the hostile creature, does that help? Before talking to the imp, can you leave, clear the path to spot in the mushroom forest he leads you to (just south east of the eastern entrance), then return and talk to Tax?

What weapon do you have equipped for the DK? There is a potential crash problem when not using a sword;

My DK has the Magical Sword you get at the start of Act 2 outside the prison, and its got 3 levels of sharping to it.

Also I have set them so they dont attack, before going in that area, I also tried going in there without weapons equipped, the Air Elemental attacks me as soon as it loads and then you start talking to the Imp, before you can attack it. I have also tried to run away from it after to get control back, but that dont work either.

As it is I made it past that area by saving the game right after the dialog with the Imp was Xed out, but I am still plauged with crashes every 5 to 10 mins of game play.

I found the problem and fixed it for the next patch.
In the meanwhile you can fix it by just equipping your deathknight with a sword before you talk to the imp.

I am new on here, but I read a lot of what everyone sayd about technical issues.

The main prbl for me, is the same: I can't get to act 3.After I talk with the imp, and accept the invitation, the loading bar appears and when it is loaded almost all , the game crashes on destop.Everything is ok with my pc.I tryed switching the resolution to 640x480, to equip the deatkn, with a sword..nothing seems to work.I have 1.44 ver.
I had same prbl when act 2 loaded , but it worked after I switched the resolution.I tryed different saved games, nothing.
I am using win98 se, and recently I installed winme.Same thing.
I am really upsett, I like this game a lot, finished DD too.Anyone please?

The latest patch is 1.45, which contains the fix for the crash on act change under Windows 9x. Before then resolution change should work around the problem, though.

Have you recently installed any video filters? At least the ReClock DirectShow Filter needs to be disabled to play the game videos.

It's not working with 1,45 neither, I just installed.I don't have any video filters, my pc was fresh formatted, no programs installed, except BD and directx 9.I played a lot of games on this computer, didn't had but very rare minor prbls untill now.I owned a pc shop(I made my own computer) and I know some things about computers, but this one is above me.
Should I install windows XP? I am willing to do almost anything.

Dd made me buy a new computer, because the one I had was a little slow.You can imagine how much I liked it.Don't think I will do it again with Bd though.I am not sorry about the money spent on the game, I just really like your games and want to continue play this one.
