I see a lot of emotion in the past day. Upset about xbox ,voice actor, in game items ,spoilers.
And i see a lot of misinformation coming fom great sites too.
That game is exclusive ps5 or that Ketheric is a necromancer...ect..

But guys/ girls this is just a game be happy that someone is taking his money and risks everything to make us the opportunity to play dnd again.
Back at 1980's the where no forums( or at least internet was not available for every one) where the ppl could complain or rage kind about everything, what they don't liked about Bg1. And the game was successful.
Feedback is a nice thing and its helping .But complaining is really bad thing . Honestly it whould make me personally upset that i risk my money to make for them something and this is what i get.
I understand everyone is sitting on needle and hope that they give us something before releasing BG3.
And kind a i am boored to.
I played early access almost 3000 hours and i am sick from it to a little bit.
But i am happy that we will get this game and i think those hou want to play it, will or should be happy to.
I someone is not happy that person should not buy it its so simple.
But here is one thing if someone is here .
Then most likely he/she buyed this game in EA.
So that person dont give a s... About spoilers.
That person dont need xbox cuz he can already play it.
And complain about voice actor.... Oooo come on.

I can see where you’re coming from, but suspect that never in the history of the world has being told to chill out done anything other than make folk more annoyed. Which I’ll admit gives me some concern, having recently agreed to become a moderator here, whose role will on occasion be to ask people to do just that!

All views of the game, positive and negative, are welcome here. As in all other areas of life, I’m sure feedback is more likely to land if expressed constructively and if it is specific, targeted and doesn’t at the same time insult the individuals to whom it is aimed. But if folk just want to vent, that’s okay too, at least unless it descends into flaming or trolling.

Let's wait for the release and the coming uproar when some dreams and hopes get finally shattered, for sure. grin

I'm with you that discussions should be rational and polite. The emotions often show how much people are involved in the DnD world. Sometimes I wonder about the topics, a bit from the perspective of an outsider, but mostly I like intense game related discussions, it's almost an additional part of the game and playable by it's own rules. And informative. Games without big forums are boring.

For example the current discussion about Ketheric and the trailer, I usually don't care that much about such stuff, but interesting aspects and informations came along and broadened the picture for me. Useful.

Generally I think at least this forum is very civilized, not much to complain about. smile

This forum is the place where you will find the most passionate fans of BG3. Those people really want for the game they love to be as perfect as possible. It leads to debates which might seem like pointless nitpicking from an outside perspective, but are actually crucial for the game health. You might want to shift your perspective a bit to find and participate in those debates productively!

Folks, this is all a bit meta. Critiquing each others’ debating style on these forums is unlikely to go well, even if it’s something we have our private opinions on.

The OP seemed to me to be venting some frustration, and as I said above venting is okay, but is unlikely to land well as constructive feedback. My suggestion is that we just move on before we further prove that point!

There's a Community meme for this too.

I'm afraid some constructive criticism does help sell the game. E.g:

-- the alternate camera that just makes the game 200% better. There is much stunning terrain just /there/ we can't really appreciate. The current camera is off-putting and anyone seeing gameplay footage will soon deduce it sucks.

-- combat skill animations being over the top. Like a rogue levitating ominously in the air before shooting a single crossbow bolt. For once not having this in a game would add more identity.

-- ass marketing. They've been doing okay so far, but that last trailer had no particular direction. Complaints about ruining the mystery were fair and a personal perspective. Put someone with relevant expertise on that team.

-- class balancing. Larian is clearly trying to make some classes more playable. I'd be nice if more were....

Complaining isn't constructive criticism. But, honestly? Is Larian reading through our long ass threads, or making a check list of things that pissed people off? A dude being super angry will probably get more attention than a 5k essay on the merits of not having speak with animal potions /everywhere/.

Thank god for complaints and criticism.
Without it what an incredibly boring world we would be living in.
There would be ZERO incentive to change anything.

It just reminded me of the bowl of goat's milk that old Winthrop used to put outside his door every evening for the dust demons. He said the dust demons could never resist goat's milk, and that they would always drink themselves into a stupor and then be too tired to enter his room..

You would be surprised.

i mean is it?? OP IS it really??? YOU are doing IT right now in this thread not only that but what makes it worse is that you are not giving feedback on the game like others are!

You are just straight up complaining about others for the sake of complaining... IN short you are way way worse at the thing that you are trying to stop.

Exactly and everyone is complains anyway just a question of when, where and to who.

Problem is some poeple can't handel it like the op and they take it personally. Especially if someone is complaining about something that they like.Because they let things define them instead of actions.

The best way to complain is in the bugtracker etc. pp. subforum. That is more useful for Larian. wink

That's just for bugs?

This was a terrible idea for a thread to begin with... and its development isn't really going any better.
