I've read through a bunch of forum threads and FAQs, but I still have a few questions.




How does cross progression work, if you have two different versions of the game, such as basic PS version and enhanced/collector's PC versions?
Would any games created on PC have the special/extra content/items, and when I transfer that game to PS5 it would be retained or would it disappear? If I created the game on PS5 and then transfer to PC, will I not have any extra items or would I gain those extra items?



Will there be Cross Buy?
Meaning, will I need to purchase a PC version and a PS5 version or do I only one version to play on both platforms? (usually via a game key/code or something)


Will there be console and desktop Cross Play?
I couldn't find a mention of future cross play, only what is possible at the moment. Are there plans to have full cross play or will play still be separated between consoles and desktops/laptops?



If cross platform play is planned, how will DM mode and custom mods be handled on consoles?
I understand this is speculative looking ahead, but was curious if it was on the roadmap or not for either at launch or later, if/when possible.


Will Early Access ever come to PS5?
Or will it only ever be desktops only?


Other than the Community Update #18, are there any other gameplay console videos?
It appears the Release Date Reveal Trailer posted to #18 was taken on console. Are there any other console videos, especially relating to buttons/controllers etc.?

Hopefully you will get an official reply here, but here are 2 cents from a fellow community member:

Nothing of that sort was announced, and Larian's website is selling platform specific Baldur's Gate3 copies, so I assume you would need to buy two copies of BG3 (PC and console). I am not aware of a game that would offer Cross Buy - Sony/Steam/GOG (and possibly Microsoft) will all want their cut.



Early Access is finished (you can still play it on PC, but there will be no more updates) and PS5 copy currently on sale doesn't seem to include Early Access, so no.


That trailer so far has been the only sneak peak we had at the controller UI and the console port. It's been a reveal that there will be a console port to begin with, so I would stay tuned for more footage to be most likely shown later down the line.
