Yes I'm also puzzled sometimes by the name of the travel points. I presume that they chose the names like 2 or 3 years ago and the game changed so much since, but it was not updated accordingly. Anyway now I know them by heart but for the future new players it can be a bit surprising.
Regarding my original request, I would say that it's better to have too much options than not enough, it's a basic functionnality (might be more complicated to program, though)
We can already browse relatively far in live game and click there, but it's rather tedious because we have to turn and regularly change the angle, altitude, change again, etc. And we cannot always navigate visually up to where we want to go.
It works already by clicking far with this method, and the characters stop to walk if there is a wall or else, so I feel like the hardest part of the functionnality is already done
So, if it's in most cRPG, especially ALL the other Baldur's Gate games, I see no valid reason that it would be absent in such a masterpiece of game.
