Knowing about the mind psychic theme in BG3, I decided to play BG3 Early Access with my version of Yoda as a Wizard.

It was a very cool experience... since Deep Gnomes are part of the Underdark ecossystem, and natural born enemies of Mind Flayers.
Overall, in a game where most people are choosing Elves, HAlf-Elves, Tieflings, Dwarves, Warlocks and other min-max builds,

I appreciate all the dialogue options for Deep Gnomes in this early access version! Larian Studios is about to set another standard, hopefully.
The game is flexible enough that I can play him as my version of Yoda, except of course... to speak with inverted syntax I cannot frown

Other than that, my PC is becoming quite an underestimated Wizard... alongside Shadowheart, Astarion and the female Gythyanki.
(Gale and the Warlock are usually left in the camp)

So, about the 2 suggestions, one would be to allow a second PC built for a party of 5, not 4.

Maybe with a specific storyline, such as being a relative/brother to the main PC (same race),
or a forgotten half-relative (depending on the race), so that the player can build a second PC which will be included in the story too.

Another suggestion, of course, would be to have an NPC Yoda himself, somewhere within the deep Gnome community.
But that I understand is from an older generation..not for young BG3 players of course.

best regards.

congratulations for the game, Larian folks!

Actually gnomes are one of the most "min-max" races due to being the only race with INT +2 and insane passive advantage to saving throws. smile

good point ..but still... I seldom saw people play with Gnomes in my life.

In 2nd edition rules, when I played mostly, Gnomes had to be Illusionists, could not dual class and had level restrictions.

This time, the options are more balanced, even being a Human can be min-max...
it seems choices are more about personal preferences and less about choosing powers and abilities.

I chose a character I thought was suited to this mind-flayer psychic-related storyline...with a background within Underdark habitat..but yes..you can see the min-max aspect of the Deep Gnome Wizard too smile

I have a gnome artificer in my current D&D campaign and my last BG3 playthrough was a deep gnome arcane trickster. Gnomes rule.
