Hello everyone, just wanted to say I’m loving EA till now, I played through it once alone and now in the process of playing it with friends. However this has left me with a concern.

With the multiplayer aspect of this game, it was commercialized as being fluid with each PC having their own romanced and relationships with different companions. While the multiplayer romance seems to kind of work (with the limits we have in EA).

I do have one concern for full release. That being that seemingly all camp events only trigger with the host, rather than the person that has interacted with or has the appropriate affection score(low for bad, high for good) with the companion. This can be frustrating when one player is trying to experience a companions whole story, and then taking a back seat for the juicy parts during nighttime. To me it seems that those scenes should be activated by exactly that, the affection score, since it can make the other players in the party feel like they’re just watching someone else play.

If that isn’t possible, a solution could be the ability to swap who is controlling the cutscene, which would actually fix two problems (the other being skill checks that are more appropriate for your other characters). I have no idea how the game is coded and if any of this is possible, but surely the affection score dictating that can’t be that difficult, right?

I hope others are in the same boat as me, considering how important it is that all players feel important to the story, and not just background characters.

Much love.

Normally if a companion is assigned to you and you have control over him, he will talk to your character only.
Essentially it's not about the host but about who is considered as the " party leader".
Knowing 3 players for instance will have an alliance of 3 parties.
2 characters party + 2x 1 character party.

Ohh, we haven’t gotten too far in our multiplayer play through (since we are thinking about waiting for full release). But if that is the case it could be a nice work around, I do know trying to talk to your friends companion will result in a “I’m busy now”, but from what I saw the camp cutscenes always have the host (or party leader as your said) as the PC. Again I may be wrong, thanks for the reply.

Weird. Regardless if we talk about the game version from release or from not so long ago ( like 2-4 months) the cinematic would always be centered around the character who started a given dialogue.

But yes, you can't start dialogues with your friends companions, it worked this way in Divinity: original sin 2 and it will most likely remain in such a way.

Small edit:
I definitely recommend waiting for the full release. It's just around the corner.
As a way to wait you can listen to the soundtrack when going to work etc this way you can pretend you actually play the game. While softly crying on the inside waiting for the release.

So neither can you have sex with them? Just curious ...
