I’ve not heard anything about tie-in media either. And also loved the cartoon so would totally be up for more work from its creators.
There is, though, already a D&D comic called Mindbreaker which seems to be a kind of prequel to BG3. That’s the sixth in a series starring Minsc and starting with Legends of Baldur’s Gate, telling the story of his reincarnation? resurrection? cloning? in the late 1400s and culminating in Mindbreaker with the story of how he and his friends uncovered a sinister new cult in Baldur’s Gate that was implanting mindflayer parasites into people

. I don’t know what input if any Larian writers had into the comic, but at the very least it’s clearly based on the conversations they had with WotC about the BG3 premise.
I feel as though I should be on commission as I keep mentioning those comics lately! I promise I’m not actually in the pay of their publisher

. Though I would recommend them as good, if fairly shallow, fun as well as an intro to some of the context and characters we might meet in BG3. Duke Ulder Ravengard makes an appearance as well as Minsc, and it seems possible that once we get to the city we might encounter other folk from the comics too, such as Krydle who is part of Minsc’s new gang and the son of Coran who was a BG1 potential companion.
