...or if not for the upcoming patch.

One of the very annoying thing in BD is when you have a mage and a fighter, and when the enemies target the mage, all the mage can do is to run and hopefully the fighter can draw fire away.

It always happen because when moving the two characters they always end up together. Hence let say they go around a bend in the corridor and suddenly find themselves facing a horde of skeletons. And even as the mage turns to run, some of the skeletons will be following because he and the fighter are together.

It's some annoying that at times I am considering to have both characters of the fighter's variety. Unless it is Larian's intention to have us micro-manage the movement of both characters...

Why not implement an auto-follow mode and a way to disable it? Hence, the second character will always trail somewhere behind. Or some form of formation - just keeping the two characters some distance away from each other will work wonder.

I know, I know, I have brought this up before, but after actually playing the game for some time, I think this feature will make the game more fun. It also makes the gameplay more seamless - without have to pause all the time to just to move the mage out of harm's way.

Some time ago, I proposed AI scripts like in Infinity Engine games. Remember? Fighter Defencive, Wizard Aggressive and such?
I still think it was a good move for Bioware to create this function.
Or make it like Arcanum (right click on the char portrait to bring the menu):

Well, there is a way to always keep your mage behind your fighter. Select all, but make your fighter the leader, then hold the mouse button when you're moving. The mage will follow you anywhere without getting in front of you. :x

Personally, I'm hoping DD2 will be like DD1 and will not burden us with a party in the first place, but otherwise yes, better control is always a good thing!

Divine Divinity 2 will be multiplayer, so that might negate the need to control the whole party, like in Neverwinter Nights.

I'm actually against parties... I also prefer for DD2 to be like DD1, just one character. But necromancing skills should be brought back. Please...
