For those who were looking for a way to misunderstand Larian: But we’ll leave some of the more intriguing visuals for Panel From Hell: Release Showcase, which is airing July 7 – where you’ll also have the chance to meet our seventh and final Origin character. I also wanted to point to dialogue in the Minsc screenshot: ![[Linked Image from i.imgur.com]](https://i.imgur.com/yYI7vGK.jpg) For some reason I assumed that tadpoles will be narrative device unique to origins. Still seems that our companions will be tadpoled as well. Now, that is true of Minthara and Minsc it seems. I wonder if Jaheira and Helsin will suffer the same fate. I was hoping that without need for forced motivation when playable as origin, companions will have more to them than "I got tadpoled, need to do something about it". edit: Minthara is tadpoled already in EA, and from Game Awards trailer it seems Minsc has been captured by the cult of the Absolute so he could get tadpoled there. Now, with Halsin getting captured as well, it wouldn't be unthinkable he could get his own tadpole as well, however, at least in EA, it doesn't seem anyone in the goblin camp is aware of the parasites, therefore making it unlikely that they would be able to plant one in the bear. It is not impossible for Halsin to not be companion immediately, and perhaps events at the end of act1 will lead to our companions getting tadpoled and them joining our crusade.

That is certainly MUCH clearer! Thank you. I also wanted to point to dialogue in the Minsc screenshot: Is it just me ... Or does he like a little like young John Travolta? 
I still dont understand why cant we change Race for our hirelings.  Lets us play Githyanki as racist as they trully are!

I see from the screen shots that there are multiple body types and 8 different voice sets. Yay.

I see from the screen shots that there are multiple body types and 8 different voice sets. Yay. Not casting shade, just an observation. I noticed that also, but only four. So with identity being separate, it’s more likely they may still be limited to a total of two masculine and feminine forms each. Unless there were character morphs/sliders we may still be very limited.

I don't want to get hopes up too high, but you'll notice that you apparently get to choose a body type at the first screen based on the screenshots shown, and then you get to choose from those four body types later in the appearance section. Since the origin tab isn't exactly a summary, there's at least a chance we actually get four physical builds - average, buff, skinny, fat would be my guess. We'll have to wait and see though.

Nere and Gut obviously are… Now I want the Gnoll to be an origin charecter lol. The world will be my buffet!

As Darkwood mentioned, that could just be because bodies aren’t gender locked and there is only normal and buff variants. If there is more variety I’ll be elated though. The elves and half-elves are all too tall. As a mixed race person who has never been mistaken as tall, my favorite race is half-elf because I identify with them visually.

I can't recal having mind blend happening with any of the marked goblins - we can influence, but I was always under impression they were "beneath us" - drones we can force our will on, while Minthara very much seemed our equal - don't we have to hide our thoughts from her invasion? I also don't remember ever seeing mark on her - though I only did evil path once, couple patches ago.

Unless there were character morphs/sliders we may still be very limited. That's my guess. The screenshot implies 4 body types, which I'd say are probably a normal and buff version of both the male and female body, and we'll be able to select any one of them for any character independently of gender identity. Which is good as far as it goes and is a feature I want, but I'd prefer more varied body types as well. I guess we'll see for sure very soon. Only a week to go until the PFH!

huhh...
