The recently revealed list of spells coming in 1.0 seems quite incomplete and I'm wondering if this means that any spells we don't see on that list now won't be included at launch. A lot of commonly used staples are missing, such as Shield, Polymorph, Spiritual Weapon, Dimension Door, Slow, Conjure Animals, Greater Invisibility, True Seeing, Lightning Bolt, Raise Dead or Detect Magic. It's also very important to note that some Wizard subclasses are going to suffer from the lack of higher level spells of their respective school (namely Divination and Illusion). As an example, the Divination Wizard gets their spell slots back when casting Divination spells. For reference, here's the complete list of confirmed non-cantrip Divination Wizard spells:

Larian told us that there will be "600 spells and actions". Here is the current sprite sheet for all of those included in the current patch plus status effects : I think there are still plenty yet to be revealed. For exemple we have yet to discover what are the remaining illithid spell are, like the displacer beast wildshape for the druid.

I haven't seen this spritesheet, it's unironically very cool, but not all that informative as far as spells are concerned. Even at first glance most of those icons are variants of the same spell, weapon actions, class features, conditions, duplicates or other non-spell actions. Hell, I could fill a single row with just Hex and Illusory Disguise. So when an infographic says "600 spells and actions", one can only wonder how much of that number is reserved for actual DnD spells.

By the way, here is the sheet for all EA items : Ripped from the Twitch integration addon. Sorry for the bad compression, I don't have the original file at hand right now.

For reference, here's the complete list of confirmed non-cantrip Divination Wizard spells: I have exactly the same concern ! I really hope the list is incomplete. We lack some very commonly used spells in D&D and most of them in former BGs (those you cited [Shield, Polymorph, Spiritual Weapon, Dimension Door, Slow, Conjure Animals, Greater Invisibility, True Seeing, Lightning Bolt, Raise Dead or Detect Magic] PLUS freedom of movement, confusion, stone skin, bigby's hand, blight, death ward, contingency, mislead, fire shield, arcane eye), and there are (almost) no divination spells (former BG had some, like clairvoyance). I am a little reassured though, because Guardian of Faith is not in the list, but has been advertised by Larian ! I will stay optimistic and I think it is highly probable we will have more spells than what is presented in the last community update.

I hope and think that the list in CU 20 was incomplete. For example, I doubt that they added only 1 Illusion spell for new 3 spell levels (especially with Wizard Illusion subclass addition) and I doubt they added Chain Lightning without Lightning Bolt (especially with Storm Sorcerer subclass addition).

I've also noticed that Banishing Smite is on the list - a 5th level Paladin spell normally unlocked at character level 17. This raises some questions: 1. How did a spell meant for 17th level characters make it on the list when the level cap is 12? 2. Is Paladin getting buffed via early access to stronger spells? If so, why only Paladin? 3. What about Banishment?
Having Banishing Smite in the game but not Banishment makes zero sense. This actually makes me a bit more optimistic about the list not being complete.

My personal guess is that each class will get some end-game feature, for people to make it more appealing, over multiclass ... In Last Community Update ... they are also talking about something called "Resonating Blast" ... wich as far as i know (and i may be wrong quite easily, i dont know monks too well) dont exist in DnD ... but its description: " infuses punched targets with Ki and can create a chain reaction of explosions across all in-range targets who have also been touched by Ki." Sounds suspiciously simmilar to Quivering Palm ... Wich is also 17th level feature.
I still dont understand why cant we change Race for our hirelings. Lets us play Githyanki as racist as they trully are!

Destructive Wave on the list is also a spell for Paladin level 17 and Staggering Smite for Paladin level 13. Unless the actual level cap is higher than announced, these "spells" might as well be powers associated to an end game weapon (like "once per long rest")

Probably the spell is granted by an item like https://baldursgate3.wiki.fextralife.com/Shadow+of+Menzoberranzan (Shrouded Shadow is also on the list).

Or they are for our higher level opponents. Also, remember the wording of much of this.. “on release/at launch”. That wording says to me that there is more to come.
*Grabs wallet in anticipation*

RITUAL CASTER Oh wow, I completely missed that! Maybe there's still hope for Detect Magic, Identify and Alarm?

In EA we have spell levels 1-3 and the spells listed in the community update appear to all be level 6 (I assume. I didn't check all of them), which is appropriate for character level 12. Therefore we don't know any level 4 or 5 spells. So, at the very least, there will be 50% more spells than we already know.
