Thanks, Red Queen, for the update on the banner. It's good, to some extent, to know that Larian is working on this.
On a related topic, there is the issue of the forum being so freaking slow, which makes it a real difficulty to use. There are two recent threads about this,
here (the one you opened) and
there. And, as Niara realised when trying to watch the PFH from Larian's website instead of YouTube, the website is apparently not working amazingly either.
I've read from you elsewhere that Larian is also working on the slow performance of the forum. So, again, that's good.
But all put together, on top of being annoying for me as a user, I feel this is embarassing for Larian.
If Larian was a small company selling antiques, hand-crafted potteries, or porcelain dishes, I would maybe raise an eye-brown at the subpar quality/performance of their websites, and that would be about it. But from a large software company, it does not look good to struggle that much with computer stuff.
The first impression a newcomer would have is that Larian lacks the necessary programming skills. And how many people would instinctively bring their car for repair to garage where the garagists drive really bad sounding cars ?
Now, I don't think that Larian truly has no one in-house who could set up a forum or a website properly. More likely, things are as they are because Larian doesn't care much about the forums. And after years of neglect, sure, it might become more difficult to do quick and successful maintenance on the forum. But I'm not sure how much better neglect/lack of care is, compared to lack of technical expertise.
I was about to conclude this post by saying "hopefully we'll get to see fixes/repairs soon". And what do you know, we have a new banner. Youhou ! One step forward.
