Who knows?
Is it worth playing as a drow race?
Do they have disadvantages in sunlight in Baldur's Gate 3 as in D&D?

Depends ...

If you expect unique experience, while playing proper Drow and picking evil choices ... then yes, definietly!

If you wish to play as "exceptionaly good step cousin of Drizzt Do'Urden" ... and expect everyone to notice what you are, being distrustfull, and turn away from you ... rather than just "i usualy dont like your kind, but you seem allright" followed by the same generic dialogue as any other Elf would have ... then nope, since the second one is what you get. :-/

No disadvantage in sunlight, and the only race with superior darkvision.

They are awesome to play.

Well ... not exactly.

No PC got sun sensitivity during EA ... that much is true.
But Duergars inside Grymforge have it (i never checked those Deep Gnome slaves for some reason).

I still havent tested what light sources will cause them to attack with disadvantage tho ...
But its there!

To clarify it is the Tadpole that is removing our Sunlight Sensitivity, just like Astarion the vampire spawn who would be ash under the sun in normal circumstances.

I'm not convinced of that, since I've played as a drow several times and that point hasn't come up. It's never even brought up that we shouldhave sunlight sensitivity to begin with.
