Larian Studios Forums Beyond Divinity (English) Technical Problems ACT IV - student Dotharhar missing !!

Okey..
there is something really wrong with ACT4 and way how you can start summoning tests, first problem for me was that i have all components for 1st summoning test, but instructor keep saying that some components are missing. I solved this reading threads on this forum - i did what ppl says: (i go as far as i can in tunnels and then dropped all necessary items for 1st summoning test and then picked them up) - and yes, then i get back to room where 1st summoning act is held and i got Exp points and finally instructor say that i have all items for summoning!

Okey, finished 1st summoning act, and instructor told me to get to second test. I did it and that other instructor told me what he wants proof and wanted book..

and now problem started.. i talked to everyone, spend a lot of time in game walking around but still nobody gives a clue about book.. then i get back to forum and just read this thread , which says there is student Dotharhar in component clerk room! But problem is - that there was no Dotharhar in this room (only 2 other characters). I have savegame as proof (2.86MB .zip file), so if Larian or anybody want to check it out, i uploaded it on web here, but unfortunately that link may be very slow. So if you cannot get it from there, i can e-mail it to you.

Luckily for me i have older samegame right after i finished 1st summoning test. And i loaded it and step by step did following: <span class='standouttext'>Spoiler : </span><span class='spoiler'> 1. Instructor wants proof - as this is a book => library
1. Librarian Antopar says, he gave it to Ansukar
2. Ansukar says, he gave it to Belehram for her son, ask about drug affair, ok?
3. Belehram admits this
4. Student Dotharhar there says => saw a student selling book to merchant and talking to imp
5. Tax will give key now. </span> ..and yes, now i was able to get my book (student Dotharhar was in clerks component room)..

I think problem was that you need to talk with characters in exact order which game developers intend you to do so. But that wont expline missing student anyway, so im confused.. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/puppyeyes.gif" alt="" />

P.S> i'm using latest v1.45 version of game.

No, Heldon, it is sufficient to talk to Dotharhar only - I rechecked this. The older sequence I wrote, was according to the way I solved it, by understanding/memorising the info I got from the NPC.

And in my last game, I was too lazy to trudge to all people - so I simply got the 2nd test and went straight on to this student, to try out if my laziness pays out. It did.

Your missing char => I don't know how you play, but I play online and depending on how long I have this game in the background - some chars tend to wander - so, if you don't mind, I'd like to see if Dothie has slouched off into another room - I'll downloead your save.

He is in your save - I saw him for a short while - but if you look at the pic - as I made this screenshot, he wandered even deeper into the black world => you couldn't reach him. His green cross is where my mouse pointer is. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/puppyeyes.gif" alt="" />

I had this, when I play online with the High Priestess, too - mad a screenshot, went into the forum to post what I shot, returned and she was in a room I couldn't get to.

i got the same problem, except i noticed it too late and all of my quick saves has this problem

my other save would need me to redo a good amount of things, so i was wondering if there is a way to fix this problem , or to skip over this part of quest

I had this with more npcs keep going up a floor or down / enter / exit BF, npcs re-appeared back on their spots after a while <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

Npc in BF with the dead forrest and lava seems to be stuck inside the house too if you enter and exit a dungeon a few times its possible she re-appeared visible again.

So my guggestion is try to go a floor up/down a few times and check back.
