Hello,
The 3rd level Druid Spell Call Lightning is completely wrong : in game it can be casted at 18 meters and is ONLY 2 meters large !!
Whereas in the official D&D description of the spell, it's 120ft range (36 meters) and area of 60ft (18 meters).

This is an extreme difference, that makes this spell nearly useless, or at least it cannot be qualified as an area of effect spell, as it's very difficult to get two ennemies in the same area.

Please fix it, it makes this 3rd level spell ridiculous, and Druids have only this direct damage AoE spell, and it's restricted to outside use already.

Spirit Guardians is off as well.

This mod makes call lightning usable anywhere, but not sure ob diameter.

Mods is really the only solution for issues like this.

I can wait to start the game until my essential mod list is updated.

Are you sure the 2m isn't just the area that is affected when you call down a specific bolt on a target area - i.e. 5ft radius ? I did play a druid but I don't think I tried that spell. If its' in the EA, and it really is limited (the area you can call the bolt over) to 2m then that is indeed bad news.

2 metres is the radius of the individual lightning bolt, equivalent to 5 ft in PnP, so it's bigger (6.6 ft.). The 60 ft. in PnP is the radius of the storm effect from which you can call down lightning bolts each turn. I don't think BG3 has any limit on this.

Yes I can confirm that I tried with a level 5 Druid. I was excited to burst the gith troup with it, when I realized all the limitations. This is a bit subpar, compared to a "simple" fireball.

I think I was surprised because from memory, the 3rd edition Call Lightning spell had a huge area of damage (Baldur's Gate 1 & 2)
After verifying, it's because we were casting multiple lightning bolts if we were high level (exemple : 5 bolts at lvl 20)

-------

After testing more, I realized that it's more about making appear ONE lightning in one specific place, instead of a storm.
I have to admit that it manages to do quite a bit of damage, because we can cast again the spell as long as the fight continue, this part is great.

But it was a bit of a struggle to use it because :
- it has a decent area distance around the druid where we can cast it, but I has still to move in an exposed open area to be close enough to be able to launch it
- regarding the specific place where it lands, it's a tight area, I usually can touch only one ennemy, two at best
- it triggers a Dex saving throw, but this part is matching the official description
