I have the gem for the Raanar sword, but where's the rare ore?

go to the smith in the Black Temple, he will flag the cave for you on Ruins Island.

I don't see it on my map. Where is it near? If I go see the Bishop before I
get the ore will I be out of Act 3?

It is in a cave - as I recall it is in the northern part of the central forest not far SW of where you answered riddles from 4 pillars to open the way to an amulet for someone who proved not to be who he claimed. If that doesn't help check the maps that many posts here have links to - the cave is shown.

Skye, don't visit the Bishop - or to be more exact => don't enter his catacombs - game is linear then and you can't solve your missing Act 3 quests.
