I have wondered for days what kind of class and build would be the best for Minthara. I'm definitely not a fan of paladins so I'm very happy that we can change Minthara's (my future wife's) class. Do you have any ideas what kind of build would be the best for her?

As far as I'm concerned, female Drow are Fighters or Clerics. Male Drow are fighters or Sorcerers. And nothing else.

She might be cool as a badass martial artist, so maybe shadow monk? I haven’t ever really interacted with her aside from killing her several dozen times.

Yes, fighter seems like the most natural class for Minthara. I can never picture Minthara as paladin, ever.

I think that's a limited view from a time when paladin's could be anything but lawful good.

I also think it would be male wizard and not sorcerer, right? I mean they go through the academy.

But also thinking that drow have no scouts, or assassins sounds very very off. Not to mention that there are other religions for male dominated societies that fight Loth.


To sum it up - the traditional nobles from Menzoberanzan would probably be female Clerics (or to a much lesser degree fighters) and male nobles usually fighters or wizards. But I see very little reason to limit yourself to that... isn't one of the Bregan D'aerthe lieutanents serving Jarlaxle even a Lolth cleric - https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Rai-guy_Bondalek? I think RA Salvatorre can be trusted as source no matter how odd a male Lolth priest sounds.

I would say war cleric could work. Or some ranger too. The heavy armored is really strong, but could also work with more light équipement. Why not à ranger with giant spider pet? There is some in goblin's lair.

How does vampire cleric (cleric/necro) build sound? Regain hp after every kill.

My Tav is gonna be gloom stalker/assassin so I don't want another ranger class to my party.

I don't think you'll be able to make her a vampire, I think only astarion can be a vampire. Bur she was a cleric in EA early on, so that makes sense.

She should be a conquest Paladin.
But as that is not in the game, Vengeance fits perfectly, imo.

If you HAVE to change her class, cleric is the only other thing that might fit.
She is a fanatic cultist, after all

Or maybe Ragner - Gloom stalker?

I would possibly be even willing to go GOO Warlock.
