Would it be possible to play on a ps5 using keyboard and mouse?
I'm just thinking of I don't like or do not enjoy the controller on the ps5 then I may want to switch to my wireless keyboard and mouse.

On pc can I use a combination of controller and keyboard?
I want to explore with a controller and use my keyboard and mouse for combat.

I mean they must implement controller support for the PS5 and the eventual possible Xbox release so I'm assuming they'll also have controller support on PC. As for whether you can use controller and keyboard/mouse at the same time I don't know...maybe.

As for the OPs question, I don't think so. I don't believe the PS5 supports keyboard and mouse. I play mostly on PS5 and I never heard of any game having keyboard and mouse support on there.

The PS5 does support many different Keyboards natively. I use a Logitech K270 which has a single USB to connect both Mouse and Keyboard at once and it works on the console. Call of Duty Cold War has great support for both Controller and MnK and detects the keyboard if I use it on the PS5, changing the UI instantly to acommodate for the input method.

I hope the game supports MnK on console at launch aswell, as I prefer it instead of a controller on this type of games.

You can with FFXIV so i would assume they will let you here? I guess we will see.

I heard the controller is clumsy due to menus within menus, which is a terrible design. Ffxiv's controller set up isn't too bad, but it certainly takes a while to get used to it.

Best would be context driven mapping, but that's difficult to create. Next best would be AI driven mapping, such that it learns over time in what contexts you use which commands the most, so they are easier to just use. Another option could use voice recognition to control menu navigation but you don't want to talk to the game all the time, that would suck.

The base version is set menus, via particular buttons or button combos. This is far inferior to keyboard and mouse, and everyone knows this. One way to compensate for that would be to slow the game down a bit, but that's again terrible design.

When you play, you just want to do things, not break immersion every second second to do particular actions. You just want to be able to do it. It's the reason why you can't get world of warcraft on a ps5- there's no way to painlessly recreate the speed and joy of playing with a keyboard and mouse.

Here's hoping Larian studios does a better job than radial menus that lead to more radial menus.
