Hi Fan`s,

I bought BS3 beta today via steam and wanted to play my first hours of the Beta.

But... all I got is a error message, that the game cant create a new Player profile `cause the profile directory cant be found...

Tried toopen without steam / reparing the game files via steam... as well as restarting my Mac and re-installing the game...

What am I doing wrong?


Any help?

Try to reinstall the game, not just to check the files, but to delete and reinstall it. There are no such problems on Windows 10

I guess it`s a problem of creating this folder in my systems liabary ..

the Mac is locked and yes the same thing can happen in Windows which is why Larian moved their profile locations to the local appdata folders

any workaround or recommendations?

not really, i mean you could try the old patch... i'm a Gog player on my Mac so my Steam skills are limited sorry

Have you tried this :
When you delete the game via Steam, try to delete any remaining BG3 files manually. There are two main folders where you might find those files : the steam folder and the MAC-equivalent-of-the-AppData folder (the same folder where you would find Mods and Temp files).
Then reinstall.
