It seems they aren't the tadpole like many of us initially thought in the first iterations of the Dream Visitor/lover.

That said, it IS curious that we are specifically asked to decide on "who we desire" and then manifests them.

If they become a companion, and very likely a romance option, how many of you will pursue them?

if they become a romance option, I'll just add them to my harem of women.

I'm in the camp of "It's still a trap; it's just that Larian had to change the aesthetic of the trap because no one was falling for it."
